سورة هود - Hūd
الٓرۚ كِتَٰبٌ أُحۡكِمَتۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتۡ مِن لَّدُنۡ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ
1. Alif Laam Ra¹.(This is) a Book, whose Verses have been perfected, then spelled out from (One) Who is All-Wise, All-Aware.
1. The Qur’an is made up of such letters from the Arabic alphabet. The Arabs at the time of revelation were the unrivalled masters of the Arabic language and yet when challenged were totally unable to bring anything like the Qur’an. Despite this fact, the inimitable nature of the Qur’an and its divine source, God knows best the meaning of these disjointed Arabic letters.
التفاسير العربية:
وَأَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ يُمَتِّعۡكُم مَّتَٰعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٖ مُّسَمّٗى وَيُؤۡتِ كُلَّ ذِي فَضۡلٖ فَضۡلَهُۥۖ وَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٖ كَبِيرٍ
3. Seek forgiveness from your Lord (Allah), then turn to Him (in repentance); He will provide you with a goodly provision until an appointed term, and give every doer of good his good (reward). But if you turn away, then I fear for you the torment of a Grievous Day.
التفاسير العربية:
إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ
التفاسير العربية:
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ يَثۡنُونَ صُدُورَهُمۡ لِيَسۡتَخۡفُواْ مِنۡهُۚ أَلَا حِينَ يَسۡتَغۡشُونَ ثِيَابَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعۡلِنُونَۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
5. They (unbelievers) fold up their chests that they may conceal (their evil thoughts) from Him. Even when they cover themselves with their clothes, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Allah certainly knows the inner-most (secrets) of the chests (of mankind).
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزۡقُهَا وَيَعۡلَمُ مُسۡتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسۡتَوۡدَعَهَاۚ كُلّٞ فِي كِتَٰبٖ مُّبِينٖ
6. There is no moving creature on earth but upon Allah is its sustenance, He knows its place of living and its temporary place of rest², all are in a manifest Record.
2. in the uterus and in its grave, etc.
التفاسير العربية:
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ وَكَانَ عَرۡشُهُۥ عَلَى ٱلۡمَآءِ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۗ وَلَئِن قُلۡتَ إِنَّكُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلۡمَوۡتِ لَيَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِنۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحۡرٞ مُّبِينٞ
7. It is He (Allah) Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days and His Throne was over the water, in order to test you (and thus to make manifest) which of you is best in conduct. If you (Muhammad) say: "You will certainly be raised up after death," those who deny will certainly say:"This is nothing but clear magic."
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَئِنۡ أَخَّرۡنَا عَنۡهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابَ إِلَىٰٓ أُمَّةٖ مَّعۡدُودَةٖ لَّيَقُولُنَّ مَا يَحۡبِسُهُۥٓۗ أَلَا يَوۡمَ يَأۡتِيهِمۡ لَيۡسَ مَصۡرُوفًا عَنۡهُمۡ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
8. If We delay in afflicting them with Our torment for an appointed time, they will certainly say: "What prevents it?" On the Day when it comes to them, it will not be averted from them and that which they mocked at will encompass them from all sides.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَئِنۡ أَذَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِنَّا رَحۡمَةٗ ثُمَّ نَزَعۡنَٰهَا مِنۡهُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيَـُٔوسٞ كَفُورٞ
التفاسير العربية:
فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكُۢ بَعۡضَ مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيۡكَ وَضَآئِقُۢ بِهِۦ صَدۡرُكَ أَن يَقُولُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ كَنزٌ أَوۡ جَآءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌۚ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ نَذِيرٞۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ وَكِيلٌ
12. Then, it may be that you would give up part of what is revealed to you (Muhammad) and your chest feels straitened by it, because they say: "Why has not a treasure been sent down upon him or an angel come with him?" You are only a warner. Allah is a Disposer of all things.
التفاسير العربية:
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ فَأۡتُواْ بِعَشۡرِ سُوَرٖ مِّثۡلِهِۦ مُفۡتَرَيَٰتٖ وَٱدۡعُواْ مَنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
13. Or, do they say: He (Muhammad) has invented it (the Qur’an). Say: "Bring then ten invented chapters (of the Qur’an) like it and call upon whom you can other than Allah (to help you), if you are truthful."
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِلَّمۡ يَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لَكُمۡ فَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ بِعِلۡمِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ
14. If they do not answer you, then know that this Revelation (Qur’an) is sent down with the Knowledge of Allah, and that there is no God (worthy of worship) except Him. Will you then be Muslims³?
3. I.e., submitters to God’s Will, after having been convinced by such evidence. Everyone who believes that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, is safe. Only by belief in Allah alone and Mohammad as His Prophet and last messenger can we receive salvation. Not only knowledge about Allah only, but deep, sincere faith, demonstrated by following the Qur’an and the tradition of prophet Muhammad, God's last and final messenger.
التفاسير العربية:
مَن كَانَ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَزِينَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡ فِيهَا وَهُمۡ فِيهَا لَا يُبۡخَسُونَ
15. Whoever desires (only) this worldly life and its glitter, We shall pay them in full their deeds therein, and they will not be made to suffer loss in respect of them.
التفاسير العربية:
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَيۡسَ لَهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارُۖ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُواْ فِيهَا وَبَٰطِلٞ مَّا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ
16. These are the ones for whom there is nothing in the Hereafter but Fire. Nullified are their deeds in it (the worldly life), and worthless is what they used to do⁴.
4. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said: “Allah would not deal a believer unjustly even (as to) a single good deed. He will be given for it in this worldly life and rewarded for it in the Hereafter. But the denier will be fed the rewards of his good deeds in this worldly life until when he comes upon the Hereafter there will be nothing for him to be rewarded for.”
التفاسير العربية:
أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ وَيَتۡلُوهُ شَاهِدٞ مِّنۡهُ وَمِن قَبۡلِهِۦ كِتَٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِمَامٗا وَرَحۡمَةًۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦۚ وَمَن يَكۡفُرۡ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ فَٱلنَّارُ مَوۡعِدُهُۥۚ فَلَا تَكُ فِي مِرۡيَةٖ مِّنۡهُۚ إِنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
17. So is one who has clear proof from his Lord (Allah), and a witness (the Prophet Muhammad) from Him follows it⁵? And before it the Scripture of Moses (the Torah), a Guidance and a Mercy. Such people believe in it (the Qur’an). Whoever of the (different) parties (Jews, Christians, and all other nations) denies it (the Qur’an), the Hellfire will be their promised meeting place, so be not in doubt about it. It is the Truth from (Allah) your Lord, but most people do not believe.
5. Can they be equal with the Deniers?
التفاسير العربية:
وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًاۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُعۡرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ وَيَقُولُ ٱلۡأَشۡهَٰدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُواْ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡۚ أَلَا لَعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
18.Who is more unjust than he who ascribe falsehood to Allah? These will be brought before their Lord (Allah), and the witnesses will say: "These are the ones who lied against their Lord." Certainly Allah’s Curse is upon the workers of iniquity.
التفاسير العربية:
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَمۡ يَكُونُواْ مُعۡجِزِينَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَۘ يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ مَا كَانُواْ يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَمَا كَانُواْ يُبۡصِرُونَ
20. These will not escape in the earth, nor will they have any protectors against Allah; the suffering will be doubled for them, they could not bear to hear (the Truth and its preachers), neither would they see (the right Way of Islam).
التفاسير العربية:
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَأَخۡبَتُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
23. Those who believe and do righteous deeds, and humble themselves to their Lord (Allah), these are the people of Paradise, they will abide therein forever.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِنِّي لَكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٌ
التفاسير العربية:
فَقَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦ مَا نَرَىٰكَ إِلَّا بَشَرٗا مِّثۡلَنَا وَمَا نَرَىٰكَ ٱتَّبَعَكَ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ أَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِيَ ٱلرَّأۡيِ وَمَا نَرَىٰ لَكُمۡ عَلَيۡنَا مِن فَضۡلِۭ بَلۡ نَظُنُّكُمۡ كَٰذِبِينَ
27. But the eminent ones of those who denied (the Truth) from among his people said: "We do not consider you anything but a man like ourselves, and we do not see any have followed you but the lowliest of us (and they did so) without thinking, and we do not see in you any excellence over us; rather, we think you are liars."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّي وَءَاتَىٰنِي رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِهِۦ فَعُمِّيَتۡ عَلَيۡكُمۡ أَنُلۡزِمُكُمُوهَا وَأَنتُمۡ لَهَا كَٰرِهُونَ
28. (Noah) said: "My people, tell me if I have with me clear proof from (Allah) my Lord, and He has granted me Mercy from Himself, but it has been made obscure to you; shall we force you to (accept) it while you are averse to it?
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ لَآ أَسۡـَٔلُكُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مَالًاۖ إِنۡ أَجۡرِيَ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِۚ وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْۚ إِنَّهُم مُّلَٰقُواْ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَٰكِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰكُمۡ قَوۡمٗا تَجۡهَلُونَ
29. My people, I ask you not for wealth in return for it; my reward is only with Allah, and I am not going to send away those who believe; they will certainly meet their Lord, but I see that you are a people behaving ignorantly:
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ مَن يَنصُرُنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِن طَرَدتُّهُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَآ أَقُولُ لَكُمۡ عِندِي خَزَآئِنُ ٱللَّهِ وَلَآ أَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبَ وَلَآ أَقُولُ إِنِّي مَلَكٞ وَلَآ أَقُولُ لِلَّذِينَ تَزۡدَرِيٓ أَعۡيُنُكُمۡ لَن يُؤۡتِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ خَيۡرًاۖ ٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا فِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ إِنِّيٓ إِذٗا لَّمِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
31. I do not say to you that I have the treasures of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I say that I am an angel, nor do I say about those whom your eyes hold in mean estimation (that) Allah will never grant them (any) good - Allah knows best what is in their inner-selves (and were I to speak such) -then I should be of the unjust.'
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ إِنَّمَا يَأۡتِيكُم بِهِ ٱللَّهُ إِن شَآءَ وَمَآ أَنتُم بِمُعۡجِزِينَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَا يَنفَعُكُمۡ نُصۡحِيٓ إِنۡ أَرَدتُّ أَنۡ أَنصَحَ لَكُمۡ إِن كَانَ ٱللَّهُ يُرِيدُ أَن يُغۡوِيَكُمۡۚ هُوَ رَبُّكُمۡ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ
34. My advice will not benefit you, as much as I intend to give you good advice, if Allah intended that He leave you astray; He is your Lord, and to Him you shall be (all) returned (for Judgment).
التفاسير العربية:
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ إِنِ ٱفۡتَرَيۡتُهُۥ فَعَلَيَّ إِجۡرَامِي وَأَنَا۠ بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تُجۡرِمُونَ
35. Or do they say: "He (Muhammad) has invented it (the Qur’an)?" Say: "If I have invented it, I shall be responsible for my own sins, and I am not responsible for whatever sins you commit."
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَصۡنَعُ ٱلۡفُلۡكَ وَكُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَيۡهِ مَلَأٞ مِّن قَوۡمِهِۦ سَخِرُواْ مِنۡهُۚ قَالَ إِن تَسۡخَرُواْ مِنَّا فَإِنَّا نَسۡخَرُ مِنكُمۡ كَمَا تَسۡخَرُونَ
38. He (Noah) began to make the ship; and whenever the eminent ones from among his people passed by him they ridiculed him. (Noah) said: "If you ridicule us, we too will ridicule you just as you ridicule.
التفاسير العربية:
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا وَفَارَ ٱلتَّنُّورُ قُلۡنَا ٱحۡمِلۡ فِيهَا مِن كُلّٖ زَوۡجَيۡنِ ٱثۡنَيۡنِ وَأَهۡلَكَ إِلَّا مَن سَبَقَ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ وَمَنۡ ءَامَنَۚ وَمَآ ءَامَنَ مَعَهُۥٓ إِلَّا قَلِيلٞ
40. Thus it was - until when Our Command came and the oven overflowed⁶, We said: "Carry therein two of every kind, a pair (male and female), and your own family - except those against whom the Word has already gone forth - and those who believe. And none believed with him except a few.
6. I.e., the earth gushed forth its springs.
التفاسير العربية:
وَهِيَ تَجۡرِي بِهِمۡ فِي مَوۡجٖ كَٱلۡجِبَالِ وَنَادَىٰ نُوحٌ ٱبۡنَهُۥ وَكَانَ فِي مَعۡزِلٖ يَٰبُنَيَّ ٱرۡكَب مَّعَنَا وَلَا تَكُن مَّعَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
42. As it moved on with them amid waves like mountains; and Noah called out to his son who was distant from him: "My son, Embark with us and do not be with the deniers."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ سَـَٔاوِيٓ إِلَىٰ جَبَلٖ يَعۡصِمُنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمَآءِۚ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ مِنۡ أَمۡرِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَۚ وَحَالَ بَيۡنَهُمَا ٱلۡمَوۡجُ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُغۡرَقِينَ
43. He said: "I will take myself to a mountain that will be refuge for me from the water." Noah said: "There is no protector today from Allah’s Command except him on whom He has Mercy"; and a wave intervened between them, and he was of who were drowned.
التفاسير العربية:
وَقِيلَ يَٰٓأَرۡضُ ٱبۡلَعِي مَآءَكِ وَيَٰسَمَآءُ أَقۡلِعِي وَغِيضَ ٱلۡمَآءُ وَقُضِيَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ وَٱسۡتَوَتۡ عَلَى ٱلۡجُودِيِّۖ وَقِيلَ بُعۡدٗا لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ
44. It was said: "Earth, swallow your water. Sky, clear away." The water subsided and the command was fulfilled, and the Ship settled on mount Judi, and it was said: "Away with the unjust people."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ يَٰنُوحُ إِنَّهُۥ لَيۡسَ مِنۡ أَهۡلِكَۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَمَلٌ غَيۡرُ صَٰلِحٖۖ فَلَا تَسۡـَٔلۡنِ مَا لَيۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌۖ إِنِّيٓ أَعِظُكَ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ
46. (Allah) said: "Noah, he is not of your family; he is (one whose) work was not righteous, so do not ask Me that of which you have no knowledge; I advise you, lest you be of the ignorants."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّيٓ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنۡ أَسۡـَٔلَكَ مَا لَيۡسَ لِي بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞۖ وَإِلَّا تَغۡفِرۡ لِي وَتَرۡحَمۡنِيٓ أَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ
47. (Noah) said: "Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You that of which I have no knowledge; unless you forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be among the losers.
التفاسير العربية:
قِيلَ يَٰنُوحُ ٱهۡبِطۡ بِسَلَٰمٖ مِّنَّا وَبَرَكَٰتٍ عَلَيۡكَ وَعَلَىٰٓ أُمَمٖ مِّمَّن مَّعَكَۚ وَأُمَمٞ سَنُمَتِّعُهُمۡ ثُمَّ يَمَسُّهُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
48. It was said: "Noah, descend with peace from Us and blessings on you and on the people from among those who are with you, but there will be other nations whom We will allow them to enjoy life (for a little time), then a painful torment from Us will afflict them."
التفاسير العربية:
تِلۡكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ نُوحِيهَآ إِلَيۡكَۖ مَا كُنتَ تَعۡلَمُهَآ أَنتَ وَلَا قَوۡمُكَ مِن قَبۡلِ هَٰذَاۖ فَٱصۡبِرۡۖ إِنَّ ٱلۡعَٰقِبَةَ لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ
49. These are of the news relating to the unseen which We reveal to you. You did not know them, (neither) you (Muhammad) nor your people before this, so be patient. The (good) outcome is for those who fear Allah (God) and keep to His Commandments.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمۡ هُودٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥٓۖ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا مُفۡتَرُونَ
50. To ‘Aad people (We sent) their brother Hud. He said: "My people, worship Allah alone, you have no God (worthy of worship) other than Him; you are but inventors of falsehood."
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ يُرۡسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّدۡرَارٗا وَيَزِدۡكُمۡ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمۡ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوۡاْ مُجۡرِمِينَ
52. My people, ask the Forgiveness of (Allah) your Lord, then turn to Him (in repentance); He will send on you clouds pouring down an abundance of rain (provision), and (He will) add strength to your strength, and do not turn away (being) wicked people.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ يَٰهُودُ مَا جِئۡتَنَا بِبَيِّنَةٖ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِتَارِكِيٓ ءَالِهَتِنَا عَن قَوۡلِكَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ لَكَ بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ
53. They said: "Hud, you have not brought to us any clear evidence (that you are a Prophet) and we are not going to desert our gods for your mere word, and we are not believers in you;
التفاسير العربية:
إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعۡتَرَىٰكَ بَعۡضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٖۗ قَالَ إِنِّيٓ أُشۡهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَٱشۡهَدُوٓاْ أَنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تُشۡرِكُونَ
54. We say nothing but that (perhaps) some of our gods have smitten you with evil." He said: "I call Allah (God) to witness, and do you bear witness too, that I am clear of (all) that you associate (with Allah in worship) as partners,
التفاسير العربية:
مِن دُونِهِۦۖ فَكِيدُونِي جَمِيعٗا ثُمَّ لَا تُنظِرُونِ
التفاسير العربية:
إِنِّي تَوَكَّلۡتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمۚ مَّا مِن دَآبَّةٍ إِلَّا هُوَ ءَاخِذُۢ بِنَاصِيَتِهَآۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ
56. I rely on Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no moving creature but He holds it by its forelock. My Lord is on a right Path.
7. I.e.,upon a right Course in all matters.
التفاسير العربية:
فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقَدۡ أَبۡلَغۡتُكُم مَّآ أُرۡسِلۡتُ بِهِۦٓ إِلَيۡكُمۡۚ وَيَسۡتَخۡلِفُ رَبِّي قَوۡمًا غَيۡرَكُمۡ وَلَا تَضُرُّونَهُۥ شَيۡـًٔاۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ حَفِيظٞ
57. But if you turn away, then I have conveyed to you the Message with which I have been sent to you, and my Lord (Allah) will bring another people in your place, and you cannot do Him any harm. My Lord (Allah) is indeed the Preserver of all things.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا نَجَّيۡنَا هُودٗا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحۡمَةٖ مِّنَّا وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٖ
58. When Our decree came to pass, We delivered Hud and those who believed with him, as a Mercy from Us (Allah), and We delivered them from a severe torment.
التفاسير العربية:
وَتِلۡكَ عَادٞۖ جَحَدُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ وَعَصَوۡاْ رُسُلَهُۥ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَ كُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِيدٖ
59. Such were the people of ‘Aad. They rejected the Revelations of their Lord (Allah), and disobeyed His messengers and followed the command of every powerful arrogant, enemy to the Truth (and Justice).
التفاسير العربية:
وَأُتۡبِعُواْ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لَعۡنَةٗ وَيَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۗ أَلَآ إِنَّ عَادٗا كَفَرُواْ رَبَّهُمۡۗ أَلَا بُعۡدٗا لِّعَادٖ قَوۡمِ هُودٖ
60. They were overtaken by a Curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. ‘Aad certainly denied their Lord (Allah). So away with ‘Aad, the people of Hud.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمۡ صَٰلِحٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥۖ هُوَ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱسۡتَعۡمَرَكُمۡ فِيهَا فَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي قَرِيبٞ مُّجِيبٞ
61. To (the people of) Thamud (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: "My people, worship Allah alone, you have no God (worthy of worship) other than Him. It is He Who has created you from the earth, and made you its cultivators. So ask His forgiveness then turn to Him in repentance. My Lord is Near, Answering (the prayers).
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ يَٰصَٰلِحُ قَدۡ كُنتَ فِينَا مَرۡجُوّٗا قَبۡلَ هَٰذَآۖ أَتَنۡهَىٰنَآ أَن نَّعۡبُدَ مَا يَعۡبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَا وَإِنَّنَا لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُونَآ إِلَيۡهِ مُرِيبٖ
62. They said: "Salih, you were one amongst us on whom great expectations were placed before this. Do you (now) forbid us from worshiping what our fathers worshiped? And as to that which you call us to, we are in grave doubt about it.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّي وَءَاتَىٰنِي مِنۡهُ رَحۡمَةٗ فَمَن يَنصُرُنِي مِنَ ٱللَّهِ إِنۡ عَصَيۡتُهُۥۖ فَمَا تَزِيدُونَنِي غَيۡرَ تَخۡسِيرٖ
63. He said: "My people, tell me if I have clear proof from (Allah) my Lord, and He has granted to me Mercy from Himself - who will then help me against Allah if I disobey Him? And you do not add to me except in loss:
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ هَٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةُ ٱللَّهِ لَكُمۡ ءَايَةٗۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأۡكُلۡ فِيٓ أَرۡضِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٖ فَيَأۡخُذَكُمۡ عَذَابٞ قَرِيبٞ
64. My people, this she-camel of Allah is a Sign for you, so leave her to graze on Allah’s earth, and do not touch her with harm, else a near torment will seize you.
التفاسير العربية:
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا نَجَّيۡنَا صَٰلِحٗا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحۡمَةٖ مِّنَّا وَمِنۡ خِزۡيِ يَوۡمِئِذٍۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ ٱلۡقَوِيُّ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ
66. When Our command came to pass, We delivered Salih and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us (Allah), and (We saved them) from the disgrace of that Day. (Allah) your Lord is the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ قَالُواْ سَلَٰمٗاۖ قَالَ سَلَٰمٞۖ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَن جَآءَ بِعِجۡلٍ حَنِيذٖ
69. Our (angelic) messengers came to Abraham with good news. They said: ‘Peace be with you.’ He answered: ‘Peace be with you.’ And he made no delay in bringing a roasted calf.
التفاسير العربية:
فَلَمَّا رَءَآ أَيۡدِيَهُمۡ لَا تَصِلُ إِلَيۡهِ نَكِرَهُمۡ وَأَوۡجَسَ مِنۡهُمۡ خِيفَةٗۚ قَالُواْ لَا تَخَفۡ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِ لُوطٖ
70. When he saw that their hands not reaching for it, he deemed them strange and conceived fear of them8. They said: "Fear not, we are (angels) sent to (chastise) Lot’s people."
8. He deemed their refraining from accepting his invitation and eating his food as an ill sign of malicious intent. If one turn down a good gesture it means that he does not want peace and is ungrateful.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٞ فَضَحِكَتۡ فَبَشَّرۡنَٰهَا بِإِسۡحَٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسۡحَٰقَ يَعۡقُوبَ
71. His spouse (Sarah) was standing (by), so she laughed9, then We gave her the good news of (the birth of) Isaac and after Isaac (a grandson) Jacob.
9. Either, because the messengers did not eat from their food, or for being glad for the destruction of the people of Lot.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُوٓاْ أَتَعۡجَبِينَ مِنۡ أَمۡرِ ٱللَّهِۖ رَحۡمَتُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَٰتُهُۥ عَلَيۡكُمۡ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡبَيۡتِۚ إِنَّهُۥ حَمِيدٞ مَّجِيدٞ
73. They (the angels) said: "Do you wonder at Allah’s decree? The Mercy of Allah and His blessings are on you, people of the house. He (Allah) is Praiseworthy, Most Glorious."
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ لَحَلِيمٌ أَوَّٰهٞ مُّنِيبٞ
75. Abraham is forbearing, grieving10, ever imploring 'with devout prayers' and earnestly repentant.
10. I.e., sighing or moaning during supplication out of grief for people and fear of Allāh. Loving others requires more than good intentions and well-wishes—it requires being “devoted to one another” ,“joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer”. It requires being willing to not only “rejoice with those who rejoice” but to “mourn with those who mourn”. It requires all of us. In a broken world, none of us escape unwounded—hurt and scars are deeply embedded in each of us. But deeper still is our love to Allah and His last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad; love tender enough to draw out those thorns with the balm of compassion, willing to embrace both friend and enemy to find healing together.
التفاسير العربية:
وَجَآءَهُۥ قَوۡمُهُۥ يُهۡرَعُونَ إِلَيۡهِ وَمِن قَبۡلُ كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِي هُنَّ أَطۡهَرُ لَكُمۡۖ فَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلَا تُخۡزُونِ فِي ضَيۡفِيٓۖ أَلَيۡسَ مِنكُمۡ رَجُلٞ رَّشِيدٞ
78. His people came to him, hastening towards him, and since before they used to commit evil deeds. (Lot) said: "My people, here are my daughters11 they are purer for you (than men), so fear Allah (God) and do not disgrace me with regard to my guests. Is there not among you (even) one right-minded man?
11. Women of our community available for marriage.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ لَوۡ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمۡ قُوَّةً أَوۡ ءَاوِيٓ إِلَىٰ رُكۡنٖ شَدِيدٖ
80. (Lot) said: "Would that I had the power (to overcome you), or could take refuge in a strong support.12"
12. He thought he lacked the necessary cover of protection, especially that of his own clan. But, in that dire situation, his Protector was none but Allah Almighty. Mohammad, God's messenger (ﷺ) said: “May Allah bless Lūṭ; he sought the support of ˹true˺ mighty Backing."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ يَٰلُوطُ إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَن يَصِلُوٓاْ إِلَيۡكَۖ فَأَسۡرِ بِأَهۡلِكَ بِقِطۡعٖ مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ وَلَا يَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنكُمۡ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَكَۖ إِنَّهُۥ مُصِيبُهَا مَآ أَصَابَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ مَوۡعِدَهُمُ ٱلصُّبۡحُۚ أَلَيۡسَ ٱلصُّبۡحُ بِقَرِيبٖ
81. (The angels) said: "Lot, we are the messengers of (Allah) your Lord; they (your enemies) will never harm you. So set out with your family in the darkness of the night - and let none of you look back except your wife, for whatever befalls them shall befall her. The appointed time (of their destruction) is the morning. Is not the morning near?
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَإِلَىٰ مَدۡيَنَ أَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥۖ وَلَا تَنقُصُواْ ٱلۡمِكۡيَالَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَۖ إِنِّيٓ أَرَىٰكُم بِخَيۡرٖ وَإِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ يَوۡمٖ مُّحِيطٖ
84. To Midian (We sent) their brother Shu’aib. He said: "My people, worship Allah alone, you have no God (worthy of worship) other than Him. Do not give short measure and weight: I see you in prosperity, and I fear for you the torment of an all-encompassing Day.
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ أَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡمِكۡيَالَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ
85. My people, give full measure and weight fairly, do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs, and do not commit abuse on the earth, spreading corruption.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ يَٰشُعَيۡبُ أَصَلَوٰتُكَ تَأۡمُرُكَ أَن نَّتۡرُكَ مَا يَعۡبُدُ ءَابَآؤُنَآ أَوۡ أَن نَّفۡعَلَ فِيٓ أَمۡوَٰلِنَا مَا نَشَٰٓؤُاْۖ إِنَّكَ لَأَنتَ ٱلۡحَلِيمُ ٱلرَّشِيدُ
87. They said: "Shu’aib, does your prayer enjoin you that we should forsake what our fathers used to worship or that we (should leave off) doing what we please with regard to our money? (You would have us believe that) you are indeed the only forbearing, right-minded man!"
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّي وَرَزَقَنِي مِنۡهُ رِزۡقًا حَسَنٗاۚ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَنۡ أُخَالِفَكُمۡ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنۡهَىٰكُمۡ عَنۡهُۚ إِنۡ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِصۡلَٰحَ مَا ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُۚ وَمَا تَوۡفِيقِيٓ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِۚ عَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡتُ وَإِلَيۡهِ أُنِيبُ
88. (Shu’aib) said: "My people, have you considered if I have a clear Proof from (Allah) my Lord and He has given me a goodly sustenance from Himself. I do not want to do behind your backs that which I forbid you. I only want reform as much as I can, and my success (in my task) can only come from Allah. On Him (alone) do I rely and to Him do I turn (in repentance)."
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ لَا يَجۡرِمَنَّكُمۡ شِقَاقِيٓ أَن يُصِيبَكُم مِّثۡلُ مَآ أَصَابَ قَوۡمَ نُوحٍ أَوۡ قَوۡمَ هُودٍ أَوۡ قَوۡمَ صَٰلِحٖۚ وَمَا قَوۡمُ لُوطٖ مِّنكُم بِبَعِيدٖ
89. My people, let not opposition to me make you guilty so that there may befall you the like of what befell the people of Noah, or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih, nor are the people of Lot far off from you;
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي رَحِيمٞ وَدُودٞ
90. Ask Forgiveness from (Allah) your Lord, then turn to Him in repentance. (Allah) my Lord is Most Merciful, Loving13.
13. Allah manifests His Love in countless ways. In the sun that rises each day, in bird songs, thirst-quenching water, beauty, color, seasons, sacrifice, generosity, hope, peace, forgiveness, grace, and mercy.
التفاسير العربية:
قَالُواْ يَٰشُعَيۡبُ مَا نَفۡقَهُ كَثِيرٗا مِّمَّا تَقُولُ وَإِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِينَا ضَعِيفٗاۖ وَلَوۡلَا رَهۡطُكَ لَرَجَمۡنَٰكَۖ وَمَآ أَنتَ عَلَيۡنَا بِعَزِيزٖ
91. They said: "Shu’aib, We do not understand much of what you say, and we see you to be weak among us, and were it not for your family, we would stone you, and you are not mighty to prevail against us."
التفاسير العربية:
قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ أَرَهۡطِيٓ أَعَزُّ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَٱتَّخَذۡتُمُوهُ وَرَآءَكُمۡ ظِهۡرِيًّاۖ إِنَّ رَبِّي بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطٞ
92. (Shu’aib) said: "My people, is my family more esteemed by you than Allah (God)? And you neglect Him as a thing cast behind your back. (Allah) my Lord encompasses what you do."
التفاسير العربية:
وَيَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡمَلُواْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِكُمۡ إِنِّي عَٰمِلٞۖ سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ مَن يَأۡتِيهِ عَذَابٞ يُخۡزِيهِ وَمَنۡ هُوَ كَٰذِبٞۖ وَٱرۡتَقِبُوٓاْ إِنِّي مَعَكُمۡ رَقِيبٞ
93. My people, do whatever you can, I will do (my part); you will come to know soon who it is on whom will descend the torment that will disgrace them, and who it is that is a liar, and wait, and I too will be waiting with you.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا نَجَّيۡنَا شُعَيۡبٗا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُۥ بِرَحۡمَةٖ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ فَأَصۡبَحُواْ فِي دِيَٰرِهِمۡ جَٰثِمِينَ
94. When Our Command came to pass We delivered Shu’aib, and those who believed with him, as a mercy from Us, and the (mighty) blast seized those who did iniquity, so they became within their homes (corpses) fallen prone.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مُوسَىٰ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٍ
التفاسير العربية:
وَمَا ظَلَمۡنَٰهُمۡ وَلَٰكِن ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡۖ فَمَآ أَغۡنَتۡ عَنۡهُمۡ ءَالِهَتُهُمُ ٱلَّتِي يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِن شَيۡءٖ لَّمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُ رَبِّكَۖ وَمَا زَادُوهُمۡ غَيۡرَ تَتۡبِيبٖ
101. We were not unjust to them, but they were unjust to themselves. So their idols whom they worshipped instead of Allah, were of no help to them when the Command of (Allah) your Lord came to pass. They (the idols) only brought about their destruction.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَأٓيَةٗ لِّمَنۡ خَافَ عَذَابَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ ذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمٞ مَّجۡمُوعٞ لَّهُ ٱلنَّاسُ وَذَٰلِكَ يَوۡمٞ مَّشۡهُودٞ
103. In this there is, certainly, a sign for him who fears the torment of the Hereafter. This is a Day on which the people will be gathered together, and this is a Day that will be witnessed (by all of mankind, jinn, angels, etc).
التفاسير العربية:
وَمَا نُؤَخِّرُهُۥٓ إِلَّا لِأَجَلٖ مَّعۡدُودٖ
التفاسير العربية:
خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ فَعَّالٞ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
107. Abiding therein forever as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord (Allah) wills. (Allah) your Lord is the Mighty Doer of what He intends.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ سُعِدُواْ فَفِي ٱلۡجَنَّةِ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا مَا دَامَتِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ إِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّكَۖ عَطَآءً غَيۡرَ مَجۡذُوذٖ
108. As for the blessed (that Day), they will be in Paradise, abiding therein forever, as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as (Allah) your Lord wills. A gift which will never be cut off.
التفاسير العربية:
فَلَا تَكُ فِي مِرۡيَةٖ مِّمَّا يَعۡبُدُ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِۚ مَا يَعۡبُدُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا يَعۡبُدُ ءَابَآؤُهُم مِّن قَبۡلُۚ وَإِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوهُمۡ نَصِيبَهُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَنقُوصٖ
109. So, do not be in doubt as to what these (pagans) worship; they do not worship except as their fathers worshiped before. We will give them the exact recompense that they deserve.
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ فَٱخۡتُلِفَ فِيهِۚ وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّنۡهُ مُرِيبٖ
110. We had certainly given Moses the Scripture (Torah), but they fell into dispute with regards to it. Had not a Word gone forth from (Allah) your Lord, the matter would have been judged between them. They are indeed in a disquiting doubt about it (this Qur’an).
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَا تَرۡكَنُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنۡ أَوۡلِيَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنصَرُونَ
113. Do not incline to those who are unjust lest the Fire touch you. You have no guardians (lords, saviors) other than Allah, nor would you then be helped.
التفاسير العربية:
وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ طَرَفَيِ ٱلنَّهَارِ وَزُلَفٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّيۡلِۚ إِنَّ ٱلۡحَسَنَٰتِ يُذۡهِبۡنَ ٱلسَّيِّـَٔاتِۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكۡرَىٰ لِلذَّٰكِرِينَ
114. Keep up the prayer at the two ends of the day14, as well as during the first hours of the night15. The good deeds remove the misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who are mindful.
14. I.e., the morning, the noon, and the afternoon prayers.

وَٱصۡبِرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجۡرَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ
التفاسير العربية:
فَلَوۡلَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ أُوْلُواْ بَقِيَّةٖ يَنۡهَوۡنَ عَنِ ٱلۡفَسَادِ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا مِّمَّنۡ أَنجَيۡنَا مِنۡهُمۡۗ وَٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ مَآ أُتۡرِفُواْ فِيهِ وَكَانُواْ مُجۡرِمِينَ
116. If only there had been among the generations (whom We destroyed) before you, men possessing understanding to warn (their people) from making corruption in the earth, as did a few of those whom We delivered from among them? But those who were unjust pursued (only) the luxuries they were in, and they were wicked.
التفاسير العربية:
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ بِظُلۡمٖ وَأَهۡلُهَا مُصۡلِحُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَۚ وَلِذَٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمۡۗ وَتَمَّتۡ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلۡجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجۡمَعِينَ
119. Except those on whom (Allah) your Lord has Mercy16, and for that did He create them. The Word of (Allah) your Lord will be fulfilled: "I will Certainly fill Gehinnom (Hell) with jinn and humans (that deny Me and My messengers), all together."
16. I.e., guides them to single Him out in worship, and away from associating any equal to Him.
التفاسير العربية:
وَكُلّٗا نَّقُصُّ عَلَيۡكَ مِنۡ أَنۢبَآءِ ٱلرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَۚ وَجَآءَكَ فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡحَقُّ وَمَوۡعِظَةٞ وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
120. All that We relate to you of the news of the messengers is to strengthen your heart therewith. There has come to you (in this Chapter of the Qur’an) the Truth and an Admonition, and a Reminder to the believers.

وَٱنتَظِرُوٓاْ إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ
التفاسير العربية:
وَلِلَّهِ غَيۡبُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَيۡهِ يُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ كُلُّهُۥ فَٱعۡبُدۡهُ وَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَيۡهِۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ
123. To Allah belongs the unseen (things) of the heavens and the earth, and to Him return all matters (for decision). So worship Him alone, and rely on Him, and your Lord is not unaware of what you do.
