سورة النور - An-Noor
سُورَةٌ أَنزَلۡنَٰهَا وَفَرَضۡنَٰهَا وَأَنزَلۡنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَٰتِۭ بَيِّنَٰتٖ لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ
1. This is a Chapter (of the Qur’an) which We have sent down to you (Muhammad) and made obligatory for you to follow its rules. We have sent down clear Verses in it that you may take heed.
التفاسير العربية:
ٱلزَّانِيَةُ وَٱلزَّانِي فَٱجۡلِدُواْ كُلَّ وَٰحِدٖ مِّنۡهُمَا مِاْئَةَ جَلۡدَةٖۖ وَلَا تَأۡخُذۡكُم بِهِمَا رَأۡفَةٞ فِي دِينِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأٓخِرِۖ وَلۡيَشۡهَدۡ عَذَابَهُمَا طَآئِفَةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
2. Flog the fornicatress and the fornicator with a hundred lashes each¹. Let not pity for them detain you in the matter of in forcing the laws of Allah², if you have faith in Allah and the Last Day. Let a party of believers witness their torment.
1. Fornication has to be proven either by confession or the testimony of four reliable eyewitnesses to having actually seen the act take place. This ruling is applicable to unmarried fornicators. Execution by stoning i.e., to death is confirmed in the sunnah for married adulterers.

التفاسير العربية:
ٱلزَّانِي لَا يَنكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوۡ مُشۡرِكَةٗ وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنكِحُهَآ إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوۡ مُشۡرِكٞۚ وَحُرِّمَ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
3. The fornicator none marries him except a fornicatress or a polytheist woman, and the fornicatress none marries her except a fornicator or a polytheist man. Marriage to such persons are unlawful to the believers.

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرۡمُونَ ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمۡ يَأۡتُواْ بِأَرۡبَعَةِ شُهَدَآءَ فَٱجۡلِدُوهُمۡ ثَمَٰنِينَ جَلۡدَةٗ وَلَا تَقۡبَلُواْ لَهُمۡ شَهَٰدَةً أَبَدٗاۚ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
4. Those who accuse chaste women (or men, of adultery) then do not produce four eyewitnesses (to support their allegations), flog them eighty lashes. And never accept any testimony from them ever; for they are the rebellious (against God).

إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ تَابُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصۡلَحُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ

وَٱلَّذِينَ يَرۡمُونَ أَزۡوَٰجَهُمۡ وَلَمۡ يَكُن لَّهُمۡ شُهَدَآءُ إِلَّآ أَنفُسُهُمۡ فَشَهَٰدَةُ أَحَدِهِمۡ أَرۡبَعُ شَهَٰدَٰتِۭ بِٱللَّهِ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ
6. Those (husbands) who accuse their wives (of adultery) and have no witness except themselves, should testify four times (swearing) by Allah that he is telling the truth.

وَٱلۡخَٰمِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعۡنَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡهِ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡكَٰذِبِينَ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو بِٱلۡإِفۡكِ عُصۡبَةٞ مِّنكُمۡۚ لَا تَحۡسَبُوهُ شَرّٗا لَّكُمۖ بَلۡ هُوَ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡۚ لِكُلِّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُم مَّا ٱكۡتَسَبَ مِنَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِۚ وَٱلَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ كِبۡرَهُۥ مِنۡهُمۡ لَهُۥ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
11. Those who brought forth the slander³ are a group (of hypocrites) among you. Do not think it is bad for you; rather, it is good for you⁴. Every one of them (the hypocrites) will have what he has earned of sin. As for him who was the chief instigator⁵, he will have a grievous torment.

التفاسير العربية:
لَّوۡلَا جَآءُو عَلَيۡهِ بِأَرۡبَعَةِ شُهَدَآءَۚ فَإِذۡ لَمۡ يَأۡتُواْ بِٱلشُّهَدَآءِ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ هُمُ ٱلۡكَٰذِبُونَ
13. Why did they not produce four eyewitnesses? Since they have failed to produce eyewitnesses (and Allah is Well-Aware of the Truth), then it is they - in the Sight of Allah - who are the liars.

وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَمَسَّكُمۡ فِي مَآ أَفَضۡتُمۡ فِيهِ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
14. Were it not for Allah’s Favor upon you and His mercy in this world and the Hereafter, a grievous torment would have touched you for your involvement in this false accusation.

إِذۡ تَلَقَّوۡنَهُۥ بِأَلۡسِنَتِكُمۡ وَتَقُولُونَ بِأَفۡوَاهِكُم مَّا لَيۡسَ لَكُم بِهِۦ عِلۡمٞ وَتَحۡسَبُونَهُۥ هَيِّنٗا وَهُوَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَظِيمٞ
15. When you received it with your tongues and spoke with your mouths what you had no knowledge of, and you deemed it an easy matter, while in the sight of Allah it is blasphemy.

يَعِظُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَن تَعُودُواْ لِمِثۡلِهِۦٓ أَبَدًا إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ

وَيُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُحِبُّونَ أَن تَشِيعَ ٱلۡفَٰحِشَةُ فِي ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ وَأَنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
19. Those who like to publicize indecency among the believers, they will have a painful torment in this world and in the Hereafter. For Allah knows what you do not know.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّبِعُواْ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۚ وَمَن يَتَّبِعۡ خُطُوَٰتِ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ فَإِنَّهُۥ يَأۡمُرُ بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِۚ وَلَوۡلَا فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَرَحۡمَتُهُۥ مَا زَكَىٰ مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ أَبَدٗا وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُزَكِّي مَن يَشَآءُۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
21. Believers, do not follow the footsteps of Satan, for whoever follows the footsteps (ways) of Satan, he commands indecency and evil. Had it not been Allah’s favor upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have ever been pure, but Allah purifies whom He wills⁶. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
6. The Word of God, the Qur’an, keeps our heart clean by pointing out the areas that need confession and renunciation. It helps to remove the dirt. The Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad exhorts us to obey Allah. The pure heart, by necessity, is the obedient heart. To obey Allah’s Word with all our heart is to obey Allah with a pure heart. There is an important connection between obedience and purity of heart. Such obedience involves doing actions that are pleasing to Allah. To be good and pure we should keep away from idolatry and sins. There are many forms of idolatry in the modern world, with many new and subtle ones in addition to the old and familiar ones. Materialism, greed, luxury, new gadgets, work, appearances, new lifestyles and the like - all these have the potential to negatively affect the purity of the heart. We are warned to keep away from anything that can become an idol, and every idol that pollutes our heart. The Prophet Muhammad said: "The lawful is clear and the unlawful is clear, and between them are matters unclear that are unknown to most people. Whoever is wary of these unclear matters has absolved his religion and honor. And whoever indulges in them has indulged in the unlawful. It is like a shepherd who herds his sheep too close to preserved sanctuary, and they will eventually graze in it. Every king has a sanctuary, and the sanctuary of Allah is what He has made unlawful. There lies within the body a piece of flesh. If it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is polluted, the whole body is polluted. This is the heart." The Prophet, peace be upon him, was once asked, who are the best people?” He said: "One with a heart swept clean and truthful in speech. We said: “O Messenger of God, we know truthful in speech. What is a heart swept clean?” The Prophet said: "One that is Godfearing and pure, in which there is neither sin, nor transgression, nor envy." We said, “Who shows a sign of it?” The Prophet said: "One who despises worldliness and loves the Hereafter." We said: “And who shows a sign of it?” The Prophet said: "A believer with good character."
التفاسير العربية:
وَلَا يَأۡتَلِ أُوْلُواْ ٱلۡفَضۡلِ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلسَّعَةِ أَن يُؤۡتُوٓاْ أُوْلِي ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ وَٱلۡمَسَٰكِينَ وَٱلۡمُهَٰجِرِينَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۖ وَلۡيَعۡفُواْ وَلۡيَصۡفَحُوٓاْۗ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغۡفِرَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ
22. Let not those of you who possess favor and abundance swear against giving to relatives, the destitute, and immigrants for Allah’s Cause. Let them pardon and overlook. Do you not love that Allah should forgive you⁷? For Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
7. A person who doesn't forgive others will not be forgiven. If you forgive other people when they sin against you, Allah will also forgive you. Allah desires that everyone forgives. You find peace by forgiving others, while yourself unforgiveness delivers you to stress and emotional suffering. Forgiveness calms stress levels, leading to improved health.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَرۡمُونَ ٱلۡمُحۡصَنَٰتِ ٱلۡغَٰفِلَٰتِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ لُعِنُواْ فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٞ
23. Those who (falsely) accuse chaste, innocent and faithful women (or men, of committing unlawful carnal relations) are cursed in this world and in the Hereafter, and they will have a grievous torment.

ٱلۡخَبِيثَٰتُ لِلۡخَبِيثِينَ وَٱلۡخَبِيثُونَ لِلۡخَبِيثَٰتِۖ وَٱلطَّيِّبَٰتُ لِلطَّيِّبِينَ وَٱلطَّيِّبُونَ لِلطَّيِّبَٰتِۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَۖ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَرِزۡقٞ كَرِيمٞ
26. Bad words and deeds are (characteristic) of bad people. Bad people are (inclined) towards the bad words and deeds. Similarly the good words and deeds are (characteristic) of good people. And good people (are inclined) towards the good words and deeds. Such⁸ are clear from what is said (of slander). For them is Forgiveness and a generous provision (in Paradise).
8. Innocent people: Aishah, the wife of the Prophet, and those innocent and pure similar to her.

يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَدۡخُلُواْ بُيُوتًا غَيۡرَ بُيُوتِكُمۡ حَتَّىٰ تَسۡتَأۡنِسُواْ وَتُسَلِّمُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَهۡلِهَاۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ
27. Believers, do not enter houses other than your own houses until you have asked permission and greeted their inhabitants. This is better for you, that you may remember.

فَإِن لَّمۡ تَجِدُواْ فِيهَآ أَحَدٗا فَلَا تَدۡخُلُوهَا حَتَّىٰ يُؤۡذَنَ لَكُمۡۖ وَإِن قِيلَ لَكُمُ ٱرۡجِعُواْ فَٱرۡجِعُواْۖ هُوَ أَزۡكَىٰ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ عَلِيمٞ
28. If you do not find anyone therein, then do not enter until permission is given to you. If you are told: "Go back", then go back. This is purer for you. Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

لَّيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَدۡخُلُواْ بُيُوتًا غَيۡرَ مَسۡكُونَةٖ فِيهَا مَتَٰعٞ لَّكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تُبۡدُونَ وَمَا تَكۡتُمُونَ
29. There is no sin on you that you enter (without asking permission) uninhabited houses⁹ wherein you have some benefit¹⁰. Allah knows whatever you reveal or hide.

قُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ يَغُضُّواْ مِنۡ أَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ وَيَحۡفَظُواْ فُرُوجَهُمۡۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزۡكَىٰ لَهُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا يَصۡنَعُونَ
30. Tell to the believing men to (maintain their modesty and) lower their gaze from what is unlawful¹¹ and to guard their carnal desires. This is purer for them. Allah is All-Aware of what they do.
11. Such as looking with lust at women who are not their wives. Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

وَقُل لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ يَغۡضُضۡنَ مِنۡ أَبۡصَٰرِهِنَّ وَيَحۡفَظۡنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبۡدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنۡهَاۖ وَلۡيَضۡرِبۡنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّۖ وَلَا يُبۡدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوۡ ءَابَآئِهِنَّ أَوۡ ءَابَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوۡ أَبۡنَآئِهِنَّ أَوۡ أَبۡنَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوۡ إِخۡوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوۡ بَنِيٓ إِخۡوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوۡ بَنِيٓ أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ أَوۡ نِسَآئِهِنَّ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُهُنَّ أَوِ ٱلتَّٰبِعِينَ غَيۡرِ أُوْلِي ٱلۡإِرۡبَةِ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ أَوِ ٱلطِّفۡلِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يَظۡهَرُواْ عَلَىٰ عَوۡرَٰتِ ٱلنِّسَآءِۖ وَلَا يَضۡرِبۡنَ بِأَرۡجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعۡلَمَ مَا يُخۡفِينَ مِن زِينَتِهِنَّۚ وَتُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
31. Tell to the believing women to (maintain their modesty and) lower their gaze¹² and guard their carnal desires. Let them not display their beauty (whether natural or with make-up) except what (must unavoidably) appear thereof¹³, and let them draw their veils over their (heads, faces, and) chests (and what is beyond), and let them not display their (hidden) beauty except to their husbands or (part of it such as their faces, necks, hands to) their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or male attendants (devoid of sexual feeling), or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women; and let them not stamp their feet in order to draw attention to their hidden adornment. Turn to Allah all of you in repentance, O believers, that you may succeed.
12. In the presence of men who are not near of kin and so lawful for marriage.

التفاسير العربية:
وَأَنكِحُواْ ٱلۡأَيَٰمَىٰ مِنكُمۡ وَٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ مِنۡ عِبَادِكُمۡ وَإِمَآئِكُمۡۚ إِن يَكُونُواْ فُقَرَآءَ يُغۡنِهِمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ وَٰسِعٌ عَلِيمٞ
32. Arrange marriages for those among you who are single and those who are fit (physically and morally) among your bondmen and bondwomen. If they be poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty; for Allah is Ample-Giving, All-Knowing.

وَلۡيَسۡتَعۡفِفِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ نِكَاحًا حَتَّىٰ يُغۡنِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦۗ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبۡتَغُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِمَّا مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡ فَكَاتِبُوهُمۡ إِنۡ عَلِمۡتُمۡ فِيهِمۡ خَيۡرٗاۖ وَءَاتُوهُم مِّن مَّالِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِيٓ ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۚ وَلَا تُكۡرِهُواْ فَتَيَٰتِكُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡبِغَآءِ إِنۡ أَرَدۡنَ تَحَصُّنٗا لِّتَبۡتَغُواْ عَرَضَ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ وَمَن يُكۡرِههُّنَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ إِكۡرَٰهِهِنَّ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
33. Let those who do not find the means to marry remain chaste until Allah enriches them from His bounty. Those who ask for a contract (of emancipation) from among those whom your right hands possess, give them the contract, if you know any good in them, and give them of the wealth of Allah which He has given you. Do not compel your maid girls to prostitution¹⁴ when they desire to keep chaste, in order to seek the frail goods of this worldly life. Whoever compels them, then after their compulsion, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful¹⁵.

وَلَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتٖ مُّبَيِّنَٰتٖ وَمَثَلٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ خَلَوۡاْ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ وَمَوۡعِظَةٗ لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
34. We have sent down to you clear Verses and examples (from the history) of those who have passed on before you, and an admonition for the righteous.

۞ ٱللَّهُ نُورُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ مَثَلُ نُورِهِۦ كَمِشۡكَوٰةٖ فِيهَا مِصۡبَاحٌۖ ٱلۡمِصۡبَاحُ فِي زُجَاجَةٍۖ ٱلزُّجَاجَةُ كَأَنَّهَا كَوۡكَبٞ دُرِّيّٞ يُوقَدُ مِن شَجَرَةٖ مُّبَٰرَكَةٖ زَيۡتُونَةٖ لَّا شَرۡقِيَّةٖ وَلَا غَرۡبِيَّةٖ يَكَادُ زَيۡتُهَا يُضِيٓءُ وَلَوۡ لَمۡ تَمۡسَسۡهُ نَارٞۚ نُّورٌ عَلَىٰ نُورٖۚ يَهۡدِي ٱللَّهُ لِنُورِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَيَضۡرِبُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡأَمۡثَٰلَ لِلنَّاسِۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ
35. Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth¹⁶; the example of His Light¹⁷ is a niche in which is a lamp, the lamp is in a glass. The glass is like a shining star which is lit from a blessed olive-tree, that is neither eastern nor western¹⁸. Its oil almost lights up though fire does not touch it. It is light upon light. Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. Allah sets forth examples for the people. Allah is Knowing of all things.
16. By which He guides their inhabitants. Allah invite confused, lost unbelievers to follow Him out of their spiritual darkness. Allah is the light of the world. Whoever follows Allah and His messenger Muhammad will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. In God’s light, we can see stumbling blocks, sin, and blind spots, allowing Him to remove such darkness from our lives as He shines His light into our hearts and on our path. Allah’s light brings us protection, and guidance. Instead of wandering through life, we can seek Allah for direction as He lights the way.

التفاسير العربية:
فِي بُيُوتٍ أَذِنَ ٱللَّهُ أَن تُرۡفَعَ وَيُذۡكَرَ فِيهَا ٱسۡمُهُۥ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ فِيهَا بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡأٓصَالِ
36. (Such niches) are in houses (Mosques) that Allah has declared to be highly respected and His Name be mentioned therein; exalting Him within them, in the mornings and the evenings.
التفاسير العربية:
رِجَالٞ لَّا تُلۡهِيهِمۡ تِجَٰرَةٞ وَلَا بَيۡعٌ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءِ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ يَخَافُونَ يَوۡمٗا تَتَقَلَّبُ فِيهِ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
37. Men, whom neither merchandise nor selling diverts them from the Remembrance of Allah, performing the prayer and paying the poor-rate. They fear a Day in which the hearts and eyes will be petrified;
التفاسير العربية:
لِيَجۡزِيَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ أَحۡسَنَ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَيَزِيدَهُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَرۡزُقُ مَن يَشَآءُ بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٖ
38. That Allah may reward them according to the best of their deeds, and increase them more out of His bounty. Allah gives sustenance to whom He wills without limit.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَعۡمَٰلُهُمۡ كَسَرَابِۭ بِقِيعَةٖ يَحۡسَبُهُ ٱلظَّمۡـَٔانُ مَآءً حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَآءَهُۥ لَمۡ يَجِدۡهُ شَيۡـٔٗا وَوَجَدَ ٱللَّهَ عِندَهُۥ فَوَفَّىٰهُ حِسَابَهُۥۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَرِيعُ ٱلۡحِسَابِ
39. The deeds of the unbelievers are like a mirage in a desert, which a thirsty man thinks is water; until when he comes to it he finds nothing. He finds Allah there (in the Hereafter) who gives him his due recompense. For Allah is Swift in Reckoning.
التفاسير العربية:
أَوۡ كَظُلُمَٰتٖ فِي بَحۡرٖ لُّجِّيّٖ يَغۡشَىٰهُ مَوۡجٞ مِّن فَوۡقِهِۦ مَوۡجٞ مِّن فَوۡقِهِۦ سَحَابٞۚ ظُلُمَٰتُۢ بَعۡضُهَا فَوۡقَ بَعۡضٍ إِذَآ أَخۡرَجَ يَدَهُۥ لَمۡ يَكَدۡ يَرَىٰهَاۗ وَمَن لَّمۡ يَجۡعَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ نُورٗا فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن نُّورٍ
40. Or it (the deeds of the unbelievers) are like the darkness of a deep, stormy sea with layers of big waves, covered by (dark) clouds. It is darkness upon darkness; whereby if one stretches out his hand he can hardly see it. The one to whom Allah does not give light (of guidance), for him there is no light¹⁹.
19. Some of the supplications of the Prophet were: "O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my sight, light in my hearing, light on my right, light on my left, light above me, light below me, light in front of me, light behind me, make light for me." He asked that light be engulfing his organs and all his sides, which is translated into clarification and illumination of the truth and guidance to it. Therefore, he asked for light in all parts of his body as well as his behaviors, life changes, situations, and entirety from the six directions so that he will never be misguided in any way.
التفاسير العربية:
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱلطَّيۡرُ صَٰٓفَّٰتٖۖ كُلّٞ قَدۡ عَلِمَ صَلَاتَهُۥ وَتَسۡبِيحَهُۥۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمُۢ بِمَا يَفۡعَلُونَ
41. Have you not considered that all that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah, and the birds with outspread wings? He knows everyone's prayers and praising. Allah has absolute knowledge of what they do.
التفاسير العربية:
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُزۡجِي سَحَابٗا ثُمَّ يُؤَلِّفُ بَيۡنَهُۥ ثُمَّ يَجۡعَلُهُۥ رُكَامٗا فَتَرَى ٱلۡوَدۡقَ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلَٰلِهِۦ وَيُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مِن جِبَالٖ فِيهَا مِنۢ بَرَدٖ فَيُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَصۡرِفُهُۥ عَن مَّن يَشَآءُۖ يَكَادُ سَنَا بَرۡقِهِۦ يَذۡهَبُ بِٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرِ
43. Do you not see that Allah drives the clouds gently, brings them together, piles them up, then you see the rain coming forth from their midst? He sends down from the sky, mountains (of clouds) wherein is hailstones, striking therewith whom He wills and turning it away from whom He wills. The flash of His lightning almost takes away the eyesight.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَ كُلَّ دَآبَّةٖ مِّن مَّآءٖۖ فَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَمۡشِي عَلَىٰ بَطۡنِهِۦ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَمۡشِي عَلَىٰ رِجۡلَيۡنِ وَمِنۡهُم مَّن يَمۡشِي عَلَىٰٓ أَرۡبَعٖۚ يَخۡلُقُ ٱللَّهُ مَا يَشَآءُۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ
45. Allah has created every living being from water. Some of them creep on their bellies, some walk on two feet, and some of them walk on four legs. Allah creates what He wills. Allah is Able to do all things.

وَيَقُولُونَ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلرَّسُولِ وَأَطَعۡنَا ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ ذَٰلِكَۚ وَمَآ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
47. They (the hypocrites) say: "We believe in Allah and in the messenger (Muhammad) and we obey;" then a party of them turn back after this. They are not believers.

وَإِن يَكُن لَّهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ يَأۡتُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ مُذۡعِنِينَ
التفاسير العربية:
أَفِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ أَمِ ٱرۡتَابُوٓاْ أَمۡ يَخَافُونَ أَن يَحِيفَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَرَسُولُهُۥۚ بَلۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ
50. Is there in their hearts a sickness (of disbelief), or are they in doubt, or do they fear that Allah and His messenger (Muhammad) will act unjustly towards them? Rather, it is they themselves who are the unjust.
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّمَا كَانَ قَوۡلَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ إِذَا دُعُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ أَن يَقُولُواْ سَمِعۡنَا وَأَطَعۡنَاۚ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ
51. The response of the believers, when they are called to Allah and His messenger (Muhammad) that he may judge between them, is only to say: "We hear and we obey." These are the successful.
التفاسير العربية:
۞ وَأَقۡسَمُواْ بِٱللَّهِ جَهۡدَ أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ لَئِنۡ أَمَرۡتَهُمۡ لَيَخۡرُجُنَّۖ قُل لَّا تُقۡسِمُواْۖ طَاعَةٞ مَّعۡرُوفَةٌۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرُۢ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ
53. They swear by Allah with their most solemn oaths that if you command them they would go forth (for fighting in Allah’s Cause). Say: "Swear not". (This) obedience (of yours) is known (to be false). Allah is Well-Aware of what you do.
التفاسير العربية:
قُلۡ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَۖ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيۡهِ مَا حُمِّلَ وَعَلَيۡكُم مَّا حُمِّلۡتُمۡۖ وَإِن تُطِيعُوهُ تَهۡتَدُواْۚ وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِينُ
54. Say: "Obey Allah (God) and obey the messenger (Muhammad)". If you turn away, then on him rests that which is imposed on him and on you rests that which is imposed on you. If you obey him (the prophet Muhammad), you shall be on the right way. Nothing rests on the messenger (of Allah) except a clear delivering (of Allah’s Message).
التفاسير العربية:
وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَيَسۡتَخۡلِفَنَّهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كَمَا ٱسۡتَخۡلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمۡ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي ٱرۡتَضَىٰ لَهُمۡ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَوۡفِهِمۡ أَمۡنٗاۚ يَعۡبُدُونَنِي لَا يُشۡرِكُونَ بِي شَيۡـٔٗاۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعۡدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلۡفَٰسِقُونَ
55. Allah has promised to those of you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will grant them authority on the earth, just as He granted it to those before them. He will make the religion (of Islam) that He has chosen for them to stand supreme. He will replace their fear with peace and security so that they will worship Me alone, not associating anything (in worship) with Me. Whoever denies (the Truth) after this, these are the rebellious (against God).
التفاسير العربية:
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لِيَسۡتَـٔۡذِنكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ مَلَكَتۡ أَيۡمَٰنُكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَمۡ يَبۡلُغُواْ ٱلۡحُلُمَ مِنكُمۡ ثَلَٰثَ مَرَّٰتٖۚ مِّن قَبۡلِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلۡفَجۡرِ وَحِينَ تَضَعُونَ ثِيَابَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظَّهِيرَةِ وَمِنۢ بَعۡدِ صَلَوٰةِ ٱلۡعِشَآءِۚ ثَلَٰثُ عَوۡرَٰتٖ لَّكُمۡۚ لَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ جُنَاحُۢ بَعۡدَهُنَّۚ طَوَّٰفُونَ عَلَيۡكُم بَعۡضُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ
58. Believers, let those whom your right hands possess and those of you who have not reached puberty ask permission of you three times; before the morning prayer, and when you put off your clothes at midday in summer, and after the prayer of nightfall. These are three times of privacy for you; neither is it a blame for you nor for them besides these (periods), when some of you must go around attending to (the needs of) others²¹. Thus Allah makes clear the Verses to you. Allah is All-knowing, All-Wise.
21. If they come into your presence without permission.
التفاسير العربية:
وَإِذَا بَلَغَ ٱلۡأَطۡفَٰلُ مِنكُمُ ٱلۡحُلُمَ فَلۡيَسۡتَـٔۡذِنُواْ كَمَا ٱسۡتَـٔۡذَنَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٞ
59. When the children among you have reached puberty, let them seek permission as those before them sought permission. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses, for Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
التفاسير العربية:
وَٱلۡقَوَٰعِدُ مِنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ٱلَّٰتِي لَا يَرۡجُونَ نِكَاحٗا فَلَيۡسَ عَلَيۡهِنَّ جُنَاحٌ أَن يَضَعۡنَ ثِيَابَهُنَّ غَيۡرَ مُتَبَرِّجَٰتِۭ بِزِينَةٖۖ وَأَن يَسۡتَعۡفِفۡنَ خَيۡرٞ لَّهُنَّۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٞ
60. As to the elderly (menopausal) women²² who do not expect to marry, it is no sin for them if they discard their (outer) clothes (such as a cloak, or face veil) without displaying their beauty and adornments. If they refrain (from discarding their outer clothing) it is better for them. (Know that) Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

التفاسير العربية:
لَّيۡسَ عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡأَعۡرَجِ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَى ٱلۡمَرِيضِ حَرَجٞ وَلَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَن تَأۡكُلُواْ مِنۢ بُيُوتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ ءَابَآئِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ إِخۡوَٰنِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أَخَوَٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أَعۡمَٰمِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ عَمَّٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ أَخۡوَٰلِكُمۡ أَوۡ بُيُوتِ خَٰلَٰتِكُمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكۡتُم مَّفَاتِحَهُۥٓ أَوۡ صَدِيقِكُمۡۚ لَيۡسَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَأۡكُلُواْ جَمِيعًا أَوۡ أَشۡتَاتٗاۚ فَإِذَا دَخَلۡتُم بُيُوتٗا فَسَلِّمُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ تَحِيَّةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُبَٰرَكَةٗ طَيِّبَةٗۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ
61. There is no blame on the blind, nor is there blame on the lame, nor is there blame on the sick, nor on yourselves that you eat from your houses, or your father’s houses or your mother’s houses, or your brother’s houses, or your sister’s houses, or your paternal uncle’s houses, or your paternal aunt’s houses, or your maternal uncle’s houses, or your maternal aunt’s houses, or what you possess the keys of, or your friend’s (houses). There is no sin upon you whether you eat together or separately. When you enter houses, give greetings of peace²³, a greeting from Allah, blessed (and) good. Thus Allah makes clear to you the Verses that you may understand.
23. saying as-salamu alaykum - peace be with you
التفاسير العربية:
إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَإِذَا كَانُواْ مَعَهُۥ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ جَامِعٖ لَّمۡ يَذۡهَبُواْ حَتَّىٰ يَسۡتَـٔۡذِنُوهُۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَـٔۡذِنُونَكَ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۚ فَإِذَا ٱسۡتَـٔۡذَنُوكَ لِبَعۡضِ شَأۡنِهِمۡ فَأۡذَن لِّمَن شِئۡتَ مِنۡهُمۡ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرۡ لَهُمُ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ
62. The believers are only those who believe in Allah and His messenger (Muhammad), and when they are with him on some common matter, they do not leave until they have asked his permission. Those who ask your permission are the ones who (really) believe in Allah and His messenger. So when they ask your permission for some affair of theirs, give permission to whom you will of them and ask forgiveness for them from Allah. Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
التفاسير العربية:
لَّا تَجۡعَلُواْ دُعَآءَ ٱلرَّسُولِ بَيۡنَكُمۡ كَدُعَآءِ بَعۡضِكُم بَعۡضٗاۚ قَدۡ يَعۡلَمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَسَلَّلُونَ مِنكُمۡ لِوَاذٗاۚ فَلۡيَحۡذَرِ ٱلَّذِينَ يُخَالِفُونَ عَنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦٓ أَن تُصِيبَهُمۡ فِتۡنَةٌ أَوۡ يُصِيبَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
63. Do not make the calling of the messenger (of Allah) among you as your calling one another. Allah knows those of you who slip away, concealed by others²⁴. So let those beware who go against his (the prophet’s) order, lest a trial afflict them or there befalls them a painful torment.
24. Without taking the permission to leave from the messenger.
التفاسير العربية:
أَلَآ إِنَّ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ قَدۡ يَعۡلَمُ مَآ أَنتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَيَوۡمَ يُرۡجَعُونَ إِلَيۡهِ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا عَمِلُواْۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمُۢ
64. To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. He knows that which you are upon²⁵. So (let them beware) the Day when they will be returned to Him, and He will inform them of what they did. For Allah is Knowing of all things.
