Ayah: 1

هَلۡ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلۡغَٰشِيَةِ
الْغَاشِيَةِ: القِيَامَةِ تَغْشَى النَّاسَ بِأَهْوَالِهَا.

Ayah: 2

وُجُوهٞ يَوۡمَئِذٍ خَٰشِعَةٌ
خَاشِعَةٌ: ذَلِيلَةٌ مُنْكَسِرَةٌ.

Ayah: 3

عَامِلَةٞ نَّاصِبَةٞ
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ: مُجْهَدَةٌ بِالعَمَلِ وَالتَّعَبِ فِي النَّارِ.

Ayah: 4

تَصۡلَىٰ نَارًا حَامِيَةٗ
تَصْلَى نَارًا: تَدْخُلُ نَارًا، وَتُقَاسِي حَرَّهَا.
حَامِيَةً: شَدِيدَةَ التَّوَهُّجِ.

تُسۡقَىٰ مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ ءَانِيَةٖ
آنِيَةٍ: شَدِيدَةِ الحَرَارَةِ.

لَّيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٖ
ضَرِيعٍ: نَبْتٍ خَبِيثٍ ذِي شَوْكٍ، لَا تَرْعَاهُ الدَّوَابُّ.

لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِي مِن جُوعٖ

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيهَا لَٰغِيَةٗ
لَاغِيَةً: لَا كَلِمَةَ لَغْوٍ وَاحِدَةً، وَلَا نَفْسًا تَلْغُو وَتَهْذِي.

جَارِيَةٌ: مُتَدَفِّقَةٌ بِالمَاءِ.

أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى ٱلۡإِبِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ

فَذَكِّرۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٞ

لَّسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِم بِمُصَيۡطِرٍ
بِمُصَيْطِرٍ: بِمُتَسَلِّطٍ تُكْرِهُهُمْ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ.
