Ayah: 1

تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٖ وَتَبَّ
1. Vervloekt zijn de twee handen van Aboe Lahab en vervloekt is hij!

مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ
2. Hij zal geen nut hebben van zijn weelde en zijn kinderen!

سَيَصۡلَىٰ نَارٗا ذَاتَ لَهَبٖ
3. Hij zal in een vuur branden met laaiende vlammen!

وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلۡحَطَبِ
4. En ook zijn vrouw, die het hout draagt.
