AT-TAKÂTHOUR

Ayah: 1

أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ
La course aux richesses vous distrait,
Arabic explanations of the Qur’an:

Ayah: 2

حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ
jusqu’à ce que vous visitiez les tombes [1090].
[1090] Jusqu’à ce que vous visitiez les tombes: jusqu’à la mort.

Ayah: 3

كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ
Mais non ! Vous saurez bientôt !

ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ
(Encore une fois) ! Vous saurez bientôt !

كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Sûrement ! Si vous saviez de science certaine [1091].
[1091] Certaine: vous ne laisserez pas la cupidité vous distraire.

لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ
Vous verrez, certes, la Fournaise.

ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ
Puis, vous la verrez certes, avec l’œil de certitude.

ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
