Ayah: 1

أَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ

1. N’as-tu pas considéré celui qui tient pour mensonge la Rétribution ?

فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِي يَدُعُّ ٱلۡيَتِيمَ

2. C’est justement lui qui rudoie l’orphelin,

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلۡمِسۡكِينِ

3. et qui n’incite point à assurer la subsistance du pauvre.

فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُصَلِّينَ

4. Malheur donc à ceux qui prient

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَن صَلَاتِهِمۡ سَاهُونَ

5. mais qui sont distraits de leur prière (Çalât),

ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ يُرَآءُونَ

6. ceux qui font tout par ostentation,

وَيَمۡنَعُونَ ٱلۡمَاعُونَ

7. et s’abstiennent de prêter (à autrui) le moindre ustensile.
