AL-MASAD

Ayah: 1

تَبَّتۡ يَدَآ أَبِي لَهَبٖ وَتَبَّ
1 Que soit perdu Abou Lahab ! Et il est bel et bien perdu.

مَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَمَا كَسَبَ
2 Ses richesses et ses œuvres ne lui seront d’aucune utilité.

سَيَصۡلَىٰ نَارٗا ذَاتَ لَهَبٖ
3 Il brûlera dans un feu aux flammes à jamais attisées,

وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ حَمَّالَةَ ٱلۡحَطَبِ
4 de même que sa femme qui, de ronces, chargée[1615],
[1615] Ronces qu’elle jetait sur la route empruntée par le Messager.

فِي جِيدِهَا حَبۡلٞ مِّن مَّسَدِۭ
5 porte autour du cou une corde de fibres tressées.
