وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَاتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا ٱئۡتِ بِقُرۡءَانٍ غَيۡرِ هَٰذَآ أَوۡ بَدِّلۡهُۚ قُلۡ مَا يَكُونُ لِيٓ أَنۡ أُبَدِّلَهُۥ مِن تِلۡقَآيِٕ نَفۡسِيٓۖ إِنۡ أَتَّبِعُ إِلَّا مَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّۖ إِنِّيٓ أَخَافُ إِنۡ عَصَيۡتُ رَبِّي عَذَابَ يَوۡمٍ عَظِيمٖ
15. And when Our clear Verses are recited to them, those who do not expect Our Meeting say (to the Prophet): "Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it." Say: "It is not for me to change it of myself; I only follow that which is revealed to me. I fear, if I were to disobey (Allāh) my Lord, the torment of a tremendous Day."

10
قُل لَّوۡ شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مَا تَلَوۡتُهُۥ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَلَآ أَدۡرَىٰكُم بِهِۦۖ فَقَدۡ لَبِثۡتُ فِيكُمۡ عُمُرٗا مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦٓۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
16. Say (Muhammad), "If Allah had so willed I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have made it known to you. I have stayed a lifetime among you before it [6]. Do you not then understand?
[6]. I.e., forty years before receiving any revelation.

10
فَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوۡ كَذَّبَ بِـَٔايَٰتِهِۦٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ
17. Who is then more unjust than the one who invents a lie against Allāh or denies His signs? Surely the guilty will not prosper.

10
وَيَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَضُرُّهُمۡ وَلَا يَنفَعُهُمۡ وَيَقُولُونَ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ شُفَعَٰٓؤُنَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِۚ قُلۡ أَتُنَبِّـُٔونَ ٱللَّهَ بِمَا لَا يَعۡلَمُ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَلَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ
18. They worship besides Allāh what can neither harm them nor benefit them, and they say: "These are our intercessors with Allāh." Say: "Do you (presume to) inform Allāh of what He knows not in the heavens and the earth?" Glory be to Him, and exalted be He above all that which they associate (with Him in worship).

10
وَمَا كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ إِلَّآ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَٱخۡتَلَفُواْۚ وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ
19. And mankind were not but a single nation [7], then they differed. Had it not been a Word that went forth before from (Allāh) your Lord, the matter would have been immediately settled between them about that over which they differ.

10
وَيَقُولُونَ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۖ فَقُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡغَيۡبُ لِلَّهِ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓاْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُنتَظِرِينَ
20. And they say:"Why has no (other) miraculous sign been sent down to him from his Lord [8]?" Say: "Surely the Unseen belongs only to Allah". So wait, I am with you among those who wait."
[8]. To support his claim of being His messenger.
