57. Y Él es Quien envía los vientos anunciadores de Su misericordia (la lluvia). Y cuando estos transportan una nube pesada[242], la conducimos hacia una tierra yerma y hacemos que llueva sobre ella para que broten todo tipo de frutos. De la misma manera resucitamos a los muertos; quizás así reflexionéis.
[242] A pesar de que las nubes dan la impresión de ser ligeras porque flotan en el cielo, la verdad es que pueden pesar millones de kilos. Según el Centro Nacional para la investigación Atmosférica de Boulder (Colorado), un cúmulus medio puede pesar unos 100 elefantes, mientras que una gran nube de tormenta puede superar los 200.000 elefantes. Es cuanto menos curioso que el Corán describa las nubes de lluvia como pesadas, cuando este fenómeno no puede apreciarse a simple vista.
