ߞߘߐ ߟߎ߬ ߘߟߊߡߌ߬ߘߊ߬ߟߌ ߝߐߘߊ ߘߏ߫ ߟߏ߲߫ ߞߍߕߊ - ߊ߲߬ߞߌ߬ߟߋ߬ߞߊ߲ ߘߟߊߡߌߘߊ - ߍ߲ߕߍߙߑߣߊߛߐ߲ߣߊߟ ߦߋߟߋ߲ ߝߊ߲ߓߊ ߓߟߏ߫. - ߞߐߜߍ ߝߙߍߕߍ 534 - ߞߎ߬ߙߣߊ߬ ߞߟߊߒߞߋ ߔߘߋߞߎ

Al-Wāqi‘ah

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 1

إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ

When the Occurrence occurs,

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 2

لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ

There is, at its occurrence, no denial.

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 3

خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ

It will bring down [some] and raise up [others].^[1608]

[1608] According to their deeds rather than wealth and social position, as is the case in this world.

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 4

إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا

When the earth is shaken with convulsion

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 5

وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا

And the mountains are broken down, crumbling

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 6

فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا

And become dust dispersing,

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 7

وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ

And you become [of] three kinds:

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 8

فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ

Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right?^[1609]

[1609] i.e., those given their records in their right hand and who are destined for Paradise.

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 9

وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ

And the companions of the left - what are companions of the left?^[1610]

[1610] i.e., those given their records in their left hand and who are destined for Hell.

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 10

وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ

And the forerunners, the forerunners^[1611] -

[1611] The words can also be understood as a complete sentence, i.e., "The forerunners [in good deeds] are the forerunners [in entering Paradise]."

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 11

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ

Those are the ones brought near [to Allāh]

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 12

فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

In the Gardens of Pleasure,

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 13

ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ

A [large] company of the former peoples

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 14

وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ

And a few of the later peoples,

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 15

عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ

On thrones woven [with ornament],

ߟߝߊߙߌ ߘߏ߫: 16

مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ

Reclining on them, facing each other.
