وَجَآءَ ٱلۡمُعَذِّرُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَعۡرَابِ لِيُؤۡذَنَ لَهُمۡ وَقَعَدَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَبُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُۥۚ سَيُصِيبُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٞ
90. There came (to the Messenger) some desert tribesmen (around Madinah) who had some excuses to offer (with the request) that they be granted exemption (from fighting), and those (hypocrites) who were untrue to Allāh and His messenger stayed behind (at home with no excuse). A painful torment will afflict those of them who disbelieved (in the Truth).
