33. If He 'Allāh' wills, He causes the wind to become stil so that they lie motionless on its surface. There are certainly signs in this for every patient, grateful one.
36. Whatever thing you are given, that is only a provision of this worldly life, and what is with Allāh is better and more lasting for those who believe 'in His Oneness' and rely on their Lord 'Allāh'.
37. Those who avoid major sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they 'restrain themselves and' forgive¹¹.
11. He did not say that they take revenge, oppress, or kill. Make it a rule in your dealings with people and be tolerant. Be good listener, slow to speak and slow to become angry. As believers in Allāh and His last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad, we are to be following more like our compassionate and gracious God, Allāh, Who is slow to be angered, abounding in love and faithfulness.
A companion of the Prophet reported: We accompanied the Messenger of God (ﷺ) in the campaign of Dhat-ur-Riqa`. We left him (ﷺ) to take rest under a shady tree. One of the pagans came to him. The sword of Messenger of God (ﷺ) was hanging on a tree. He drew it and said: "Who will protect you from me?'' The Messenger of God (ﷺ) replied, "Allāh". As soon as he said this, the sword fell down from his hand and the Messenger of God (ﷺ) catching the sword, asked him, "Who will protect you from me.'' The pagan man said, "Please forgive me.'' The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said, "On condition you testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allāh and that I am His messenger.'' The man said, "No, but I promise you that I shall not fight against you, nor shall I be with those who fight with you". The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) let him go. Then the man went back to his companions and said: "I have come to you from one of the best of mankind".
38. Those who answer the call¹² of their Lord 'Allāh' and keep up the prayer, and who 'conduct' their affairs by mutual consultation, and spend 'in charity' out of what We have given them.
12. I.e. to believe that He is the only One True God and to worship none but Him.
40. The recompense of an injury is punishment like it, but whoever pardons and makes reconciliation, they will have their reward from Allāh. He certainly does not like the unjust.
42. The way 'of blame' is only against those who oppress men and rebel in the earth without right; for such 'wrongdoers' there will be a suppressing torment.
44. Whoever Allāh leaves astray, for him there is no protector after Him. You will see the workers of iniquity when they see the torment, saying: "Is there any way to return?"14
