Ayah: 46

إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِيْهِۦ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ وَكَانُواْ قَوۡمًا عَالِينَ
ফির‘আউন ও তার পরিষদবর্গের কাছে। কিন্তু তারা অহংকার করল; আর তারা ছিল উদ্ধত সম্প্রদায় [১]।
[১] মূলে قَوْمًاعَالِيْنَ শব্দগুলো ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। এর অর্থ, তারা ছিল বড়ই আত্মম্ভরী, জালেম ও কঠোর। তারা নিজেদেরকে অনেক বড় মনে করতো এবং উদ্ধত আস্ফালন করতো। [ফাতহুল কাদীর]
