15 A Allah seul sont soumis, bon gré mal gré, tous les êtres qui peuplent les cieux et la terre, ainsi que leurs ombres, soumises à Ses lois matin et soir[659].
[659] Littéralement : devant Allah seul se prosternent…Les anges, au ciel, et les croyants, sur terre, se prosternent volontairement. Les mécréants, pour leur part, se « prosternent », qu’ils le veuillent ou non, dans la mesure où ils sont eux aussi soumis à la volonté du Seigneur dont ils sont les créatures, la « prosternation » étant la forme la plus accomplie de soumission au Créateur. Le Très Haut dit au verset 58 de la sourate 2 : « franchissez la porte en vous prosternant », autrement dit, selon les exégètes : « en toute humilité », c’est dire le lien étroit entre la notion de prosternation et celle de soumission. En outre, si les mécréants refusent de poser leur front au sol en signe de soumission à leur Seigneur - auquel ils sont de toute manière soumis - leurs ombres, elles, se prosternent immanquablement en s’inclinant matin et soir.
