Translation of the meanings Ayah: (16) Surah: Al-Isrā’
وَإِذَآ أَرَدۡنَآ أَن نُّهۡلِكَ قَرۡيَةً أَمَرۡنَا مُتۡرَفِيهَا فَفَسَقُواْ فِيهَا فَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهَا ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فَدَمَّرۡنَٰهَا تَدۡمِيرٗا
16 Et lorsque Nous décidons d’anéantir une cité, Nous ordonnons à ses habitants les plus puissants de Nous obéir, mais ils s’y livrent au péché[734]. L’arrêt divin est alors prononcé contre ses habitants qui sont exterminés jusqu’au dernier.
[734] Autre sens : Nous plaçons à sa tête ses habitants les plus aisés qui s’y livrent au péché. Voir sourate 6, verset 123.
