Translation of the meanings Ayah: (50) Surah: Al-Anfāl
وَلَوۡ تَرَىٰٓ إِذۡ يَتَوَفَّى ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ يَضۡرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمۡ وَأَدۡبَٰرَهُمۡ وَذُوقُواْ عَذَابَ ٱلۡحَرِيقِ
50 Si tu pouvais voir[505] les anges arracher les âmes des impies et les frapper par devant et par derrière, leur disant : « Goûtez les tourments du Feu
[505] Le jour de la bataille de Badr, expliquent certains exégètes, pour qui ce verset s’inscrit donc dans le récit de la première grande bataille de l’islam, tandis que d’autres lui donnent une portée plus générale. Ce verset décrirait, selon eux, le moment où les anges de la mort viennent arracher l’âme du mécréant.
