Translation of the meanings Ayah: (219) Surah: Al-Baqarah
۞ يَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ عَنِ ٱلۡخَمۡرِ وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرِۖ قُلۡ فِيهِمَآ إِثۡمٞ كَبِيرٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَإِثۡمُهُمَآ أَكۡبَرُ مِن نَّفۡعِهِمَاۗ وَيَسۡـَٔلُونَكَ مَاذَا يُنفِقُونَۖ قُلِ ٱلۡعَفۡوَۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Σε ρωτούν (ω, Μωχάμμαντ) για το Αλ-Χαμρ (τα αλκοολούχα ποτά, -επίσης είναι οποιαδήποτε ουσία που ζαλίζει το μυαλό-) και τον τζόγο. Πες: «Υπάρχει και στα δύο μεγάλη αμαρτία, και (κάποια) οφέλη για τους ανθρώπους, μα η αμαρτία τους είναι μεγαλύτερη από το όφελός τους.» Και σε ρωτούν τι (ποσό) πρέπει να ξοδέψουν (για ελεημοσύνη κλπ.). Πες: «Το περίσσευμά σας.» Έτσι ο Αλλάχ σάς διευκρινίζει τα Εδάφια (και τους νόμους της Σαρίας) ώστε να συλλογίζεστε.
