Translation of the meanings Ayah: (23) Surah: Az-Zukhruf
وَكَذٰلِكَ مَاۤ اَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فِیْ قَرْیَةٍ مِّنْ نَّذِیْرٍ اِلَّا قَالَ مُتْرَفُوْهَاۤ ۙ— اِنَّا وَجَدْنَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا عَلٰۤی اُمَّةٍ وَّاِنَّا عَلٰۤی اٰثٰرِهِمْ مُّقْتَدُوْنَ ۟
तथा इसी प्रकार, हमने आपसे पूर्व जिस बस्ती में भी कोई सावधान करने वाला भेजा, तो वहाँ के संपन्न लोगों ने यही कहा कि निःसंदेह हमने अपने बाप-दादा को एक रीति पर पाया और निःसंदेह हम उन्हीं के पद्चिह्नों का अनुसरण करने वाले हैं।[8]
8. आयत का भावार्थ यह है कि प्रत्येक युग के काफ़िर अपने पूर्वजों के अनुसरण के कारण अपने शिर्क और अंधविश्वास पर क़ायम रहे।
