Translation of the meanings Ayah: (184) Surah: Al-Baqarah
اَیَّامًا مَّعْدُوْدٰتٍ ؕ— فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَّرِیْضًا اَوْ عَلٰی سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِّنْ اَیَّامٍ اُخَرَ ؕ— وَعَلَی الَّذِیْنَ یُطِیْقُوْنَهٗ فِدْیَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِیْنٍ ؕ— فَمَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَیْرًا فَهُوَ خَیْرٌ لَّهٗ ؕ— وَاَنْ تَصُوْمُوْا خَیْرٌ لَّكُمْ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُوْنَ ۟
ఇది (ఈ ఉపవాసం) నిర్ణయించబడిన రోజులకు మాత్రమే. కానీ, మీలో ఎవరైనా వ్యాధిగ్రస్తులై ఉంటే, లేక ప్రయాణంలో ఉంటే, వేరే దినాలలో (ఆ ఉపవాసాలు) పూర్తి చేయాలి. కాని దానిని పూర్తి చేయటం దుర్భరమైన వారు పరిహారంగా, ఒక పేదవానికి భోజనం పెట్టాలి[1]. కాని ఎవరైనా సహృదయంతో ఇంకా ఎక్కువ మేలు చేయదలిస్తే, అది అతని మేలుకే! కాని మీరు తెలుసుకో గలిగితే ఉపవాసం ఉండటమే, మీకు ఎంతో ఉత్తమమైనది.
[1] అతివృద్ధులు, దీర్ఘవ్యాధితో పీడితులైనవారు, గర్భవతులైన స్త్రీలు, బిడ్డలకు పాలిచ్చే స్త్రీలు మొదలైనవారు, ఉపవాసముండటం వారికి అతి కష్టతరమైతే, పరిహారంగా ప్రతిరోజూ ఒక పేదవానికి భోజనం పెట్టాలి. కాని గర్భవతులైన స్త్రీలు , పిల్లలకు పాలిచ్చే స్త్రీలు మరియు కొద్దికాలానికి మాత్రమే వ్యాధి గ్రస్థులైన వారు మాత్రం విడిచిన ఉపవాసాలను తరువాత పూర్తి చేసుకోవాలి.
