Translation of the meanings Ayah: (154) Surah: Al-Baqarah
وَلَا تَقُوْلُوْا لِمَنْ یُّقْتَلُ فِیْ سَبِیْلِ اللّٰهِ اَمْوَاتٌ ؕ— بَلْ اَحْیَآءٌ وَّلٰكِنْ لَّا تَشْعُرُوْنَ ۟
(1) شہدا کو مردہ نہ کہنا، ان کے اعزاز وتکریم کے لئے ہے، یہ زندگی برزخ کی زندگی ہے جسے ہم سمجھنے سے قاصر ہیں۔ یہ زندگی علیٰ قدر مراتب انبیا ومومنین، حتیٰ کہ کفار کو بھی حاصل ہے۔ شہید کی روح اور بعض روایات میں مومن کی روح بھی ایک پرندے کے جوف (یا سینہ) میں جنت میں جہاں چاہتی ہیں پھرتی ہیں (ابن کثیر، نیز دیکھیے آل عمران۔ 169)
