Translation of the meanings
Ayah: (173) Surah: Al-A‘rāf
اَوْ تَقُوْلُوْۤا اِنَّمَاۤ اَشْرَكَ اٰبَآؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّیَّةً مِّنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ— اَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُوْنَ ۟
یا یوں کہو کہ پہلے پہلے شرک تو ہمارے بڑوں نے کیا اور ہم ان کے بعد ان کی نسل میں ہوئے، سو کیا ان غلط راه والوں کے فعل پر تو ہم کو ہلاکت میں ڈال دے گا؟(1)
(1) یعنی ہم نے یہ اخذ عہد اور اپنی ربوبیت کی گواہی اس لیے لی تاکہ تم یہ عذر پیش نہ کرسکو کہ ہم تو غافل تھے یا ہمارے باپ دادا شرک کرتے آئے تھے، یہ عذر قیامت والے دن بارگاہ الٰہی میں مسموع نہیں ہوں گے۔
