خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفۡسٖ وَٰحِدَةٖ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۡهَا زَوۡجَهَا وَأَنزَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ ثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَزۡوَٰجٖۚ يَخۡلُقُكُمۡ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡ خَلۡقٗا مِّنۢ بَعۡدِ خَلۡقٖ فِي ظُلُمَٰتٖ ثَلَٰثٖۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ ٱللَّهُ رَبُّكُمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡمُلۡكُۖ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُصۡرَفُونَ
6. He has created you from a single being (Adam), then created, of like nature, his mate. He produced for you eight of the cattle in pairs [3]. He creates you in the wombs of your mother - a creation after a creation - in three darknesses [4]. Such is Allāh your Lord, His is the Kingdom. There is no 'true' god except Him. How are you then turned away (from the Truth)?
[3]. The eight types of livestock, four males and four females: a pair of sheep, a pair of goats, a pair of camels, and a pair of oxen.
[4]. The darkness of the belly, that of the womb and that of the placenta.
