إِلَّا تَنصُرُوهُ فَقَدۡ نَصَرَهُ ٱللَّهُ إِذۡ أَخۡرَجَهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ثَانِيَ ٱثۡنَيۡنِ إِذۡ هُمَا فِي ٱلۡغَارِ إِذۡ يَقُولُ لِصَٰحِبِهِۦ لَا تَحۡزَنۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَنَاۖ فَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُۥ عَلَيۡهِ وَأَيَّدَهُۥ بِجُنُودٖ لَّمۡ تَرَوۡهَا وَجَعَلَ كَلِمَةَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلسُّفۡلَىٰۗ وَكَلِمَةُ ٱللَّهِ هِيَ ٱلۡعُلۡيَاۗ وَٱللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
40. If you do not aid him [the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ], Then Allāh certainly aided him when those who disbelieved expelled him, he being the second of the two [20], when they were both in the cave, when he said to his companion: "Do not worry, Allāh is certainly with us." So Allāh sent down His tranquility upon him and strengthened him with [angelic] forces which you did not see, and made lowest the word of those who disbelieved [21]; and the Word of Allāh [22] - that is the supreme; for Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
[20]. The second was his companion, Abu Bakr.
[21]. I.e., their claims and slogans of disbelief.
[22]. I.e., "Laa ilaaha illal laah" (there is no true deity except Allāh).
