136. Y (los idólatras de La Meca) asignan a Al-lah parte de las cosechas y de los rebaños que Él mismo ha creado, diciendo: “Esto es para Al-lah —según sus pretensiones— y esto para las divinidades que adoramos (fuera de Él)”. No obstante, lo que asignan a las divinidades no le llega a Al-lah, mas lo que le asignan a Al-lah sí llega a las divinidades que adoran[222]. ¡Qué malo es lo que deciden!
[222] Cuando los idólatras cultivaban la tierra o recolectaban la cosecha, asignaban parte de lo cultivado a Al-lah y parte a sus ídolos. Preservaban la parte asignada a los ídolos a toda costa, y si algo de dicha parte iba a parar accidentalmente en la asignada a Al-lah, la devolvían a la parte de los ídolos. Sin embargo, no hacían lo mismo en el caso contrario: cuando parte de lo asignado a Al-lah se mezclaba casualmente con la parte de los ídolos, consideraban que estos eran pobres y no la devolvían.
