Al-Kāfirūn

ആയത്ത്: 1

قُلۡ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ

1. Say:  “O you disbelievers¹, 

1. Who persist in denying Allāh, His messengers, and the Last Day.

ആയത്ത്: 2

لَآ أَعۡبُدُ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ

2. I do not worship what you worship²,

2. of false deities, idols, ancestral customs, etc.

ആയത്ത്: 3

وَلَآ أَنتُمۡ عَٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعۡبُدُ

3. Nor do you worship what I worship³.

3. i.e., Allāh alone, the Creator of universe.

ആയത്ത്: 4

وَلَآ أَنَا۠ عَابِدٞ مَّا عَبَدتُّمۡ

4. Nor I am worshiping what you have worshiped4,

4. Of false deities, idols, ancestral customs, etc.

ആയത്ത്: 5

وَلَآ أَنتُمۡ عَٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعۡبُدُ

5. Nor do you worship what I worship (i.e., Allāh alone),

ആയത്ത്: 6

لَكُمۡ دِينُكُمۡ وَلِيَ دِينِ

6. You have your deeds, and I have my deeds.”⁴

4. I.e., you have your way of life, and I have my way of life. I do not compromise with evil, but follow only Allah’s one true Religion of Islam.
