150. Y dondequiera que te encuentres, vuelve tu rostro (para rezar) hacia la Mezquita Sagrada (de La Meca). Allí donde os encontréis, volved vuestros rostros en dicha dirección para que nadie pueda argumentar nada en vuestra contra[51], salvo quienes sean injustos (los idólatras). No los temáis, pues, y temedme solo a Mí, para que pueda completar Mis gracias sobre vosotros y para que estéis bien guiados.
[51] Los judíos y los cristianos sabían que la nación musulmana se orientaría hacia La Meca para efectuar sus rezos, siguiendo la descripción que de ella aparecía en sus Escrituras. Si los musulmanes no hubiesen cambiado la alquibla y hubiesen seguido orientándose hacia Jerusalén, como los judíos, estos podrían haber utilizado ese argumento contra los musulmanes, más aún cuando el Profeta —que Al-lah lo bendiga y le dé la paz— proclamaba seguir la religión de Abraham y no seguía su alquibla, la Kaaba.
