قَدۡ نَرَىٰ تَقَلُّبَ وَجۡهِكَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِۖ فَلَنُوَلِّيَنَّكَ قِبۡلَةٗ تَرۡضَىٰهَاۚ فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۚ وَحَيۡثُ مَا كُنتُمۡ فَوَلُّواْ وُجُوهَكُمۡ شَطۡرَهُۥۗ وَإِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ لَيَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۗ وَمَا ٱللَّهُ بِغَٰفِلٍ عَمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ

144. Indeed We have seen the turning of your face (O Muhammad) toward the heaven [42], so now We shall certainly turn you to a Qiblah that pleases you. So turn your face towards the Sacred Mosque (in Makkah), and wherever you may be, turn your faces towards it. And those who were given the Scripture surely know that this is the Truth from their Lord. And Allāh is never unaware of what you do. info

[42]. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was awaiting the command to change the qiblah (the direction of the prayer); so he used to look up at the sky.
