222 : 2

222. And they ask you [O Prophet] concerning menstruation. Say: "It is state of harm [and discomfort]"; so keep away from approaching [your] wives intimately [84] during menstruation and do not approach them until they become pure. Then, when they have purified themselves, you may go to them in the manner that Allāh has commanded you. Indeed, Allāh loves those who turn much (to Him in repentance), and He loves those who keep themselves pure [85]. info

[84]. I.e., refrain from sexual intercourse during the menstrual discharge. The Qur’an and Sunnah allow all closeness except intercourse at that time. Jews avoided even sitting with a menstruating woman, while Christians permitted intercourse.
Islam chose the balanced way: forbidding intercourse but allowing affection.
It is prohibited also for a man to divorce a menstruating woman during her menses.
Allāh decreed that a woman should be divorced when she is in a state of purity, free from postpartum bleeding and menses, and during a time of purity when her husband has not yet had intercourse with her. This is the divorce that is prescribed according to the law.
Women are supposed to maintain proper hygiene and stop prayer and fasting during the period of the menses. They do not have to make up the prayers they missed during menstruation but the missed fasts during Ramadan they should make up. When the menstruating period is over, women have to perform ritual purification (ghusl, that is total bath) and resume prayer.
[85]. Clean and purify yourselves, stop to do evil. If we confess our sins, Allāh is faithful to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. let us cleanse ourselves from all the impurity of flesh and spirit, perfecting righteousness in the fear of Allāh. Ask Allāh to create in you a clean heart. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see Allāh in the Hereafter.
