Translation of the meanings Ayah: (138) Surah: Al-A‘rāf
وَجَٰوَزۡنَا بِبَنِيٓ إِسۡرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَ فَأَتَوۡاْ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ يَعۡكُفُونَ عَلَىٰٓ أَصۡنَامٖ لَّهُمۡۚ قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَى ٱجۡعَل لَّنَآ إِلَٰهٗا كَمَا لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةٞۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمۡ قَوۡمٞ تَجۡهَلُونَ
138. En Wij brachten de kinderen van Israël door de zee en zij kwamen bij mensen die een paar van hun afgodsbeelden vroom (aanbaden). Zij zeiden: “O, Moesa! Maak voor ons een god zoals zij goden hebben.” Hij zei: “Waarlijk jullie zijn een volk dat niet weet."
