لَهُۥ دَعۡوَةُ ٱلۡحَقِّۚ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِهِۦ لَا يَسۡتَجِيبُونَ لَهُم بِشَيۡءٍ إِلَّا كَبَٰسِطِ كَفَّيۡهِ إِلَى ٱلۡمَآءِ لِيَبۡلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَٰلِغِهِۦۚ وَمَا دُعَآءُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ
14. To Him 'Allāh alone' is the call of Truth. But those to whom they call upon instead of Allāh do not answer them in any way, except like one who stretches forth his two hands towards water (from afar, calling at it) that it may reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [6]. For the prayer of the deniers is only in error.
[6]. This comparison indicates that the false deities will never respond to them at all.
