Translation of the meanings Ayah: (96) Surah: Al-Baqarah
وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمۡ أَحۡرَصَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ حَيَوٰةٖ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُواْۚ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمۡ لَوۡ يُعَمَّرُ أَلۡفَ سَنَةٖ وَمَا هُوَ بِمُزَحۡزِحِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ أَن يُعَمَّرَۗ وَٱللَّهُ بَصِيرُۢ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ
96. You will certainly find them (the Jews) the greediest of all men for life, even more than the pagans. Each one of them wishes that he gladly live for a thousand years, but his being granted a long life will in no way remove him further away from the torment. Allah sees what they do.
