Translation of the meanings Ayah: (130) Surah: Āl-‘Imrān
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَأۡكُلُواْ ٱلرِّبَوٰٓاْ أَضۡعَٰفٗا مُّضَٰعَفَةٗۖ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
130. Believers, do not devour interest (usury)41, making it double and multiplied, and fear Allah and shun evil - that you may prosper "in all you do and wherever you go'.
41. Mohammad, God's messenger said, "Avoid the seven deadly sins." The people enquired, "O God's Messenger, what are they?" He said, "(1) To join others in worship along with Allâh, (2) to practise sorcery, (3) to kill a person which Allâh has forbidden except for a just cause (according to Islâmic law), (4) to consume Ribâ (usury), (5) to consume an orphan’s wealth, (6) to show one’s back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting for the Cause of God, (7) and to accuse chaste women (or men), who never even think of anything touching their chastity and are true believers".
