قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَٰمٞ وَقَدۡ بَلَغَنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ وَٱمۡرَأَتِي عَاقِرٞۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ
40. He [14] said, "My Lord, how can I have a boy when old age has already come upon me, and my wife is barren?" (The angel) said: "Thus Allāh does what He wills."
[14]. Zachariah did not address the angel or ask him for anything but rather, being fully cognizant that Allāh is ever near and answering of Prayers, directed his Prayers to Allāh and not the intermediary.
