Translation of the meanings Ayah: (40) Surah: Āl-‘Imrān
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَٰمٞ وَقَدۡ بَلَغَنِيَ ٱلۡكِبَرُ وَٱمۡرَأَتِي عَاقِرٞۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ ٱللَّهُ يَفۡعَلُ مَا يَشَآءُ
40. He14 said: "Lord (Allah), how can I have a son when old age has already come upon me, and my wife is barren?" (The angel) said: "Thus Allah 'God' does what He wills."
14. Zachariah did not address the angel or ask him for anything but rather, being fully cognizant that Allah is ever near and answering of Prayers, directed his Prayers to Allah and not the intermediary.
