Translation of the meanings Ayah: (81) Surah: Āl-‘Imrān
وَإِذۡ أَخَذَ ٱللَّهُ مِيثَٰقَ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ لَمَآ ءَاتَيۡتُكُم مِّن كِتَٰبٖ وَحِكۡمَةٖ ثُمَّ جَآءَكُمۡ رَسُولٞ مُّصَدِّقٞ لِّمَا مَعَكُمۡ لَتُؤۡمِنُنَّ بِهِۦ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُۥۚ قَالَ ءَأَقۡرَرۡتُمۡ وَأَخَذۡتُمۡ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمۡ إِصۡرِيۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَقۡرَرۡنَاۚ قَالَ فَٱشۡهَدُواْ وَأَنَا۠ مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ
81. (People of the Scripture, recall), when Allah made a Covenant through the Prophets23, saying: "After I have given you the Scripture and Wisdom - then a messenger (Muhammad) comes to you confirming that which is with you, you must believe in him, and you must help him." (God) said: "Do you affirm and accept My Covenant in this (matter)?" They said: "We do affirm." He said: "Then bear witness, and I (too) am of the witness with you."
23. It is possible that this oath was taken at the time the offspring of Adam were taken out of his back as breaths or taken from each Prophet at the time of his mission”.
