The main difference between the grave and the jadath is that the grave is the burial place in this world, while the jadath refers to the place of gathering and emergence from it on the Day of Judgment, when the scattered bodies will emerge from their atoms in the dust, sea, or elsewhere, and not just from the specific burial place. The word “ajdath” in the Qur’an expresses a state of movement and speed, while “qubur” is used to indicate a state of stillness and inactivity.
