Translation of the meanings Ayah: (11) Surah: Al-Hadīd
11. Who is it that will lend to Allāh a goodly loan⁵, so He will double it for him, and he will have noble Reward.
5. Kindness to the poor is a loan to Allāh, and He will give a reward to the lender.
One of the Companions reported:
While we were travelling with the Messenger of God (ﷺ), the Prophet Muhammad, a rider came and began to stare on the right and on the left. Muhammad, God's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "He who has an extra mount should hand it over to one who has none, and he who possesses surplus provision, should give it to him who is without provision." He named various kinds of possessions until we began to realize that none of us had any right to anything surplus. This is represented by caring for other people's basic needs—such as food, clothing, home, transport — when we have enough for ourselves, we must provide to others in need to anything surplus we have. Whoever has two shirts must give one to the man who has none, and whoever has food must share it with the hungry. This underscores the statement as a reference to fundamental human needs.
