Translation of the meanings Surah: Al-Hashr   Ayah:

Al-Hashr

1. All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorify Allāh. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
2. It is He 'Allāh' Who expelled the deniers among the followers of the (earlier) Scripture¹ from their homes at their first gathering (and exile). You did not think that they would leave (without resistance), while they thought that their fortresses would defend them against Allāh. But Allāh came to them from where they did not expect, and cast panic into their hearts. They demolished their houses with their own hands and the hands of the believers. So take a lesson (from this), O people of vision.
1. I.e., the Jews of the tribe of Nadheer who broke their treaty with the Muslims.
3. Had it not been that Allāh had decreed for them the exile, He would certainly have chastised them in this world (by killing and taking them captives), and in the Hereafter they shall have the Torment of the Fire.
4. This is because they opposed Allāh and His messenger. Whoever opposes Allāh - then Allāh is Severe in Punishment.
5. The palm-trees (of the Jews hostile to you) which you cut down or leave standing upon their roots, it is by Allah’s will, and that He may disgrace the rebellious.
6. What Allāh restored (of wealth) to His messenger from the enemy, you urged not any horse or riding-camel to capture it. But Allāh gives power to His messenger against whom He wills, for Allāh has full Power over all things.
7. Whatever Allāh restored (of wealth) to His messenger from the people of the towns², it is for Allāh, the messenger, the kinsfolk³, the orphans, the destitute and the (stranded) traveler (stranger and foreigner), so that it (i.e., the wealth) will not circulate only in the hands of the rich among you. Whatever the messenger (the Prophet Muhammad) gives you, accept it, and desist from what he forbids you. Fear Allāh and shun evil. Indeed, Allāh is Severe in Punishment.
2. Who are in war with him.
3. Whom the Prophet (ﷺ) had prohibited from accepting charity.
8. (There is also a share in the said wealth) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their wealth, seeking bounty from Allāh and (His) good Pleasure, helping Allah’s (Cause) and His messenger. These are the truthful.
9. Those who established community center (in Medina) and embraced the faith before them⁴, love those who emigrate to them5, and do not find in their hearts any rancor of what the immigrants are given. They give preference over themselves even if they are in need of it. Whoever is saved from the greed of his own self, these are the successful and prosperous.
4. I.e., before the arrival of those who emigrated.
5. Love each other deeply o believers, because love has a huge reward and covers over a multitude of sins.
Love for the sake of Allāh brings rewards your mind can’t even grasp, but unfortunately it has become a lost trait among many people. So let’s find out what it means to love someone for the sake of Allāh. Loving someone for the sake of Allāh comes in two ways: in your heart and with your deeds. You love someone for the sake of Allāh in your heart because of their position with Allāh, and this starts with loving the prophets and messengers and everyone who follows them. You should have this love in your heart for the believers. Outwardly means that you support that person in the good deeds they do, and you respect and defend them according to their good deeds. This means you don’t love them because you know them very well, or because they brought you a direct benefit or because they have a nice appearance: you love and support them because of their efforts to please Allāh! There are huge rewards to gain from loving each other.
a. Taste the sweetness of faith.
To start with an invaluable reward in this world, the Prophet sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam said: There are three qualities whoever has them, will taste the sweetness of faith: to love Allāh and His Messenger 'Muhammad' more than anyone else; to love a person only for the sake of Allāh; and to abhor returning to infidelity after Allāh has saved him from it as he would abhor to be thrown into the fire of Hell. We have to realize that of everything you can have in this world, a taste of the sweetness of faith is the most precious.
b. Enjoy the shade of Allāh.
Moving to the Day of Judgement, the Prophet said that Allāh will ask on this day: Where are those who loved each other for the sake of My glory? Today, on a day when there is no shade but Mine, I shall shade them with My shade. You will only understand your intense need of this shade, when you are there and by just loving someone for the sake of Allāh you can work for it now!
c. The Prophets and martyrs will envy you.
Muhammad, the Messenger of God said: Allāh, the Exalted, has said: For those who love one another for the sake of My Glory, there will be seats of light on the Day of Resurrection, and they will be envied by the Prophets and martyrs. Imagine yourself sitting on seats of light and the best of the best envying you because you made it a priority to love others for the sake of Allāh!
d. You will have a high rank with Him.
The Prophet said: A man set out to visit a brother in faith in another town and Allāh sent an angel on his way. When the man met the angel, the latter asked him: Where do you intend to go? He said: I intend to visit my brother in this town. The angel said: Have you done any favour to him and you want something in return for it? He said: No, I have no desire except to visit him because I love him for the sake of Allāh, the Exalted, and Glorious. Thereupon the angel said: I am a messenger to you from Allāh to inform you that Allāh loves you as you love him for His sake. Isn’t this breath taking? By loving someone for the sake of Allāh, you gain the love of the Highest and which love is better than His?
10. Those 'believers' who come after them say: "Our Lord 'Allāh', forgive us and those of our brothers who have preceded us in faith, and place not in our hearts any resentment or hatred towards those who believe. Our Lord, You are Most Kind, Most Merciful."
11. Have you not seen the hypocrites who say to their fellow deniers among the followers of the (past) Scripture6: "If you are expelled, we shall go forth with you, and we shall never obey any one against you. If you are fought, we will help you." Allāh testifies that they are liars.
6. I.e., the Jews of the tribe of Nadheer.
12. If they are expelled, they will not go forth with them, and if they are fought, they will not help them. Even if they help them, they will run away from the battle, then they will not be victorious.
13. You (believers) are more fearful in their hearts than Allāh. This is because they are a people who do not understand.
14. They (those Jews) will not fight against you as a body except in fortified towns or from behind walls. Their enmity among themselves is severe. You think they are together but their hearts are divided. This is because they are a people who have no sense.
15. They are like those (Jews) who preceded them7 a little; they tasted the evil result of their affair, and they will have a painful torment.
7. Referring to the exile of the Jews of Banu Qaynuqā‘.
16. (The hypocrites are) like the example of Satan when he says to man: ‘Deny (Allāh and His messenger),’ but when he denies, Satan says: ‘I have nothing to do with you. I fear Allāh, Sovereign Lord of all beings.’
17. So the end of both of them (Satan and his follower) is that they will be in the Fire (of Hell) to abide therein. That is the recompense of the unjust.
18. O believers, fear Allāh and shun evil. Let every soul look to what it has sent forth for tomorrow. And keep to the Commandments of Allāh. For Allāh is All-Aware of what you do.
19. Do not be like those who forgot about Allāh, so He caused them to forget their own selves8. These are the rebellious.
8. I.e., forget to send forth good deeds for themselves in the Hereafter.
20. Not equal are the people of the Hellfire and the people of Paradise. The people of Paradise are the achievers (of Success).
21. Had We sent down this Qur’an on a mountain, you would have seen it humbled, rent asunder for Awe (and Reverence) to Allāh. We set forth these examples to the people, that they may reflect (and realise the Truth).
22. He is Allāh, besides Whom there is no god (worthy of worship); the Knower of the unseen and the seen. He is the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
23. He is Allāh, besides Whom there is no god (worthy of worship); the King, the Holy, the Peace9, the Granter of Security, the Guardian over all, the All-Mighty, the Dominant, the Exalted. Glory be to Allāh, may He be exalted far above all that they (falsely) associate with Him (as partners in worship).

24. He is Allāh, the Creator, the Inventor, the Bestower of forms. To Him belong the Most Excellent Names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorify Him. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
