Ayah: 17

وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَحَبُّواْ ٱلۡعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ
17. O Samud, Mes parodėme ir paaiškinome jiems Tiesos Kelią (islamiškąjį monoteizmą) per Savo Pasiuntinį (t. y. parodėme jiems kelią į sėkmę), tačiau jie rinkosi aklumą, o ne vedimą. Tad žeminančios kančios Saiha (naikinantis siaubingas riksmas, kančia, trenksmas, perkūno ir žaibo trenksmas) užklupo juos dėl to, ką jie įgydavo.
