إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلۡمَيۡتَةَ وَٱلدَّمَ وَلَحۡمَ ٱلۡخِنزِيرِ وَمَآ أُهِلَّ بِهِۦ لِغَيۡرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنِ ٱضۡطُرَّ غَيۡرَ بَاغٖ وَلَا عَادٖ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٌ

Ohun tí (Allāhu) ṣe ní èèwọ̀ fún yín ni òkúǹbete¹, ẹ̀jẹ̀², ẹran ẹlẹ́dẹ̀ àti ohun tí wọ́n pe orúkọ mìíràn lé lórí yàtọ̀ sí (orúkọ) Allāhu. Ṣùgbọ́n ẹni tí ìnira (ebi) bá mú (jẹ ẹran èèwọ̀), tí kì í ṣe ẹni tó ń wá èèwọ̀ kiri àti olùtayọ-ẹnu-ààlà, kò sí ẹ̀ṣẹ̀ fún un. Dájúdájú Allāhu ni Aláforíjìn, Àṣàkẹ́-ọ̀run.³

1. Òkúǹbete ni ẹran tí ó kú fúnra rẹ̀. Kíyè sí i, ẹ̀tọ́ ni òkúǹbete ẹran odò ní tirẹ̀ ní ìbámu sí sūrah al-Mā’idah; 5:96.
2. Ìyẹn ẹ̀jẹ̀ tí ó tú jáde lára ẹran yálà nípasẹ̀ dídúńbú, gígún tàbí títalọ́fà ní ìbámu sí sūrah al-’Ani‘ām; 6:145. Kì í ṣe ẹ̀jẹ̀ tí ó ṣẹ́kù sára ẹran tí wọ́n ti kun tàbí ẹ̀jẹ̀ tí ó wà nínú ẹ̀dọ̀ àti àmọ́.
3. Ìnira ebi ni pé, kí ènìyàn bọ́há sí àyè kan, tí kò ti lè rí òdíwọ̀n ohun jíjẹ tàbí ohun mímu halāl tí ó kéré jùlọ láti fi gbé ẹ̀mí ara rẹ̀ ró. Àmọ́ ní ti ìnira àìsàn, mùsùlùmí kò gbọdọ̀ lo n̄ǹkan harām láti fi tọ́jú ara rẹ̀, bí ó tilẹ̀ wù kí ó rí, kódà kó fẹ́ já sí ikú. Harām kì í ṣe sábàbí ìlera. Nítorí náà, ìnira ebi ni làlúrí. Ìnira àìsàn kì í ṣe làlúrí.
