3. By the even (number) and odd (of the days and things)²,
2. The witr prayer is done by praying one single ra'kah (unit) or two rak'ahs and then praying one single ra'kah. You can pray up to eight rak'ah, and then end it with one single rak'ah. Praying 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 rak'ahs for witr prayer is recommended. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) practiced it regularly and encouraged others to perform it at night after Isha (night-time prayer) or before fajr (dawn prayer). As such, praying witr comes under semi obligatory sunnah. The Prophet (ﷺ) would perform the witr prayer and say: 'O you people (followers) of the Qur'an, perform the witr prayer, for Allāh 'God' is one and He loves the witr (the odd number).
15. As for man (the denier), when his Lord 'Allāh' tries him, and (thus) is generous to him, and makes him lead an easy life, he says: ‘My Lord has honored me.’
16. But when He tries him and straitens for him his means of sustenance, he says: ‘My Lord 'Allāh' has disgraced me⁶.’
6. Rather than being ungrateful when in prosperity and impatient when in adversity. Be generous in prosperity, and patient in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of your neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and smiling face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer of the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of your pledge. Be fair in your judgment, and guarded in your speech. Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all your acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring.
