Firo maanaaji Simoore: Simoore Cuddiiɗo (al-musammil)   Aaya:

Al-Muzzammil

1. O you wrapped in garments¹,
1. I.e., Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) - seeking cover out of fear, after seeing angel Gabriel.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
2. Arise (to pray) the night except a little,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
3. 'Pray' Half of it 'the night', or a little less,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
4. Or a little more, and recite the Qur’an slowly and distinctly.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
5. We shall send down to you a heavy Word².
2. This Qur’an, which when descending on the Prophet (ﷺ) bore down upon him with a great weight in its unparalleled excellence, and in its perfect meanings and noble ordinances.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
6. Indeed, the hours of the night are most effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue]³ and most upright for words.
3. Or getting up at night is more difficult, meaning that it can only be done by sincere believers.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
7. Indeed, for you 'Muhammad' in the day a lengthy occupation.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
8. So remember the Name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with 'complete' devotion.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
9. (He is the) Lord of the East and the West - there is no god 'worthy of worship' except Him - so take Him as Disposer of all (your) affairs.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
10. And patiently endure whatever they say, and avoid them with a gracious avoidance.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
11. And leave Me alone and the deniers, possessors of plenty favours, and give them respite for a little while.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
12. Indeed, With us are shackles and a blazing Fire,
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
13. And food that chokes and a painful torment (prepared for them),
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
14. On the Day the earth and the mountains will quake and the mountains become a sand-heap poured forth.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
15. Surely, We have sent to you (O mankind) a messenger (Muhammad)4, as a witness over you, as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger (i.e., Moses).
4. If you confess with your mouth that Allāh is your only Lord and Islam (i.e., peace and submission to God) your religion and Muhammad is last and final Prophet and Messenger of God, and that Jesus and Moses are also God's messengers and believe that in your heart, you will be saved.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
16. But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger (Moses)5, so We seized him with a severe seizure.
5. As well as the Israelites, they rejected Jesus, God's messenger to them, and wanted him put to death but God saved him from them and took him up. And now you reject God's last and final messenger, the Prophet Muhammad.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
17. How then, will you guard yourselves (from the torment), if you persist in disbelief, a Day that will make children grey-headed?
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
18. The heaven will break apart therefrom; His promise (of Judgment) is ever fulfilled.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
19. Indeed, this is a Reminder, so whoever wills may take the 'right' way to his Lord.
Faccirooji aarabeeji:
20. Indeed, your Lord knows that you (Muhammad) and a party of those with you get up for prayer almost two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or one-third of it. Allāh determines (the duration of) the night and the day. He knows that you are not able to pray most of the night, so He has turned to you with forgiveness6. Thus, recite what is easy 'for you' of the Qur’an. He knows that some of you would be sick, and others would travel in the land seeking of the bounty of Allāh, and others would fight for the Cause of Allāh. Thus, recite what is easy from the Qur’an, and keep up the prayer, and pay the poor-rate, and lend to Allāh a goodly loan7. Whatever good deeds you send forth for your yourselves, you will find it with Allāh - it is better and greater in reward8. Ask Forgiveness from Allāh - for Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
6. The ruling mentioned at the beginning of this chapter is lightened here. So from now on, the believers do not have to stick to any of the portions specified there; rather, they can pray whatever they can at night. It is out of the mercy of Allāh upon His servants that He does not want hardship for them.
7. If you lend money to one of the people among you who is needy, do not gain profit from that and charge no interest.
8. Allāh honors the giving of charity, and a person who helps the needy does Allah's will. It will be rewarded tenfold, or 700-fold, and Allāh gives even more to whoever He wills. The implication of the term "lend" suggests that Allāh will repay those who are generous - not necessarily only with material wealth, but as well as in spiritual blessing.
