أَمۡوَٰتٌ غَيۡرُ أَحۡيَآءٖۖ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُونَ أَيَّانَ يُبۡعَثُونَ

(21) They are [in fact] dead,^[695] not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected.

[695]- i.e., inanimate or without understanding.
