Ayah: 7

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا وَرَضُواْ بِٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَٱطۡمَأَنُّواْ بِهَا وَٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا غَٰفِلُونَ

7. Those who do not hope in Our meeting and are pleased with this worldly life and content with it, and who pay no attention to Our revelations:

Ayah: 8

أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ مَأۡوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ

8. Those, their ultimate abode will be the Fire, for what they used to commit (of evil).

Ayah: 9

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ يَهۡدِيهِمۡ رَبُّهُم بِإِيمَٰنِهِمۡۖ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ

9. As for those who believe and do righteous deeds, their Lord 'Allāh' will guide them by their faith; there shall flow under them rivers, in gardens of bliss.

Ayah: 10

دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ فِيهَا سُبۡحَٰنَكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّتُهُمۡ فِيهَا سَلَٰمٞۚ وَءَاخِرُ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ أَنِ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

10. Their prayer therein is: "Glory 'and Honor' be to You, O Allāh," and their greeting therein is: "Peace be with you;" and the concluding of their prayer is: "All praise be to Allāh, the Lord of all beings."

Ayah: 11

۞ وَلَوۡ يُعَجِّلُ ٱللَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ ٱلشَّرَّ ٱسۡتِعۡجَالَهُم بِٱلۡخَيۡرِ لَقُضِيَ إِلَيۡهِمۡ أَجَلُهُمۡۖ فَنَذَرُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرۡجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا فِي طُغۡيَٰنِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ

11. If Allāh were to hasten to the people the evil 'they invoke'5 just as He hastens for them the good, their term would have been already ended, but We 'give respite' and leave those who hope not for Our Meeting in their transgression, blindly wandering on.

5. In anger or in heedlessness.

Ayah: 12

وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ ٱلضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنۢبِهِۦٓ أَوۡ قَاعِدًا أَوۡ قَآئِمٗا فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُ ضُرَّهُۥ مَرَّ كَأَن لَّمۡ يَدۡعُنَآ إِلَىٰ ضُرّٖ مَّسَّهُۥۚ كَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ

12. When man is touched by hardship, he cries out to us, whether lying on his side, sitting or standing; but when We relieve him of his hardship, he moves on as though he had never cried to Us for the hardship that touched him. Thus that which they do is made fair-seeming to the transgressors.

Ayah: 13

وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَمَّا ظَلَمُواْ وَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَمَا كَانُواْ لِيُؤۡمِنُواْۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ

13. We have indeed destroyed generations before you when they 'persistently' commited iniquites and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they would not believe. Thus do We recompense the wicked people.

Ayah: 14

ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَٰكُمۡ خَلَٰٓئِفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لِنَنظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُونَ

14.Then We made you their successors in the land after them, so that We may see how you act.
