Traduzione dei significati Sura: Al-Baqarah   Versetto:
197. The Pilgrimage is (performed in) the well-known months73. Whoever intends the performance of the Pilgrimage (by assuming Ihram), there is to be no carnal relations, nor disobedience, nor disputing during the Hajj. Whatever good you do, Allāh knows it. Take provision, for the best provision is (to live a life of) righteousness. Fear me, O you of sound understanding.
73. The months of Shawwal, Dhul Qa’dah, and Dhul Hijjah in the lunar year.
Esegesi in lingua araba:
198. It is not a sin if you seek bounty from (Allāh) your Lord (by trading during Hajj). When you depart from Arafat74, then remember Allāh near the Sacred Monument (in Muzdalifah), and remember Him as He has guided you, though before that you were certainly among those astray.
74. Here are the occurrences of the word Aravot in the old testimony:
Psalm 68:4 "Extol Him who rides upon the Aravot..."
Aravot = elevated desert plains.
A place where Allāh (God) is glorified, associated with His nearness and majesty.
Muslims glorify Allāh at ʿArafat in massive numbers on the most sacred day of the year.
Isaiah 40:3 : "In the Aravah, make straight a highway for our God..."
This is nearly identical in concept to preparing oneself at ʿArafat — preparing a spiritual path to God through submission, prayer, and repentance.
Joshua 11:2 "...and to the Canaanite in the Aravah..." Inhabitants of the desert plains: Just as ancient peoples dwelled and worshipped in these open plains, Muslims gather in ʿArafat to spiritually dwell, cry, and reconnect with Allāh the Lord, in a pure, open space.
Arafah is open wilderness. Flat land east of Mecca. Place of Divine Encounte. (Ps. 68:4) . Allah descends and hears the duʿā’ of pilgrims. Symbol of Judgment & Mercy, Prophetic call to repentance. Day of repentance, mercy, and Pilgrims purify themselves and seek nearness to Allāh.
The connection between "Aravot" in the old testimony and "ʿArafat" in Islamic tradition is not just linguistic, but deeply spiritual and thematic. Both point to:
A desert space.
A time of revelation or divine presence.
An act of human humility and submission
This may indicate a shared Abrahamic heritage of sacred desert worship — a memory preserved across generations.
Esegesi in lingua araba:
199. Then depart from the place from where (all) the people depart (Arafat) and ask Forgiveness of Allāh. Indeed, Allāh is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
Esegesi in lingua araba:
200. When you have completed your devotions75, then remember (and honor) Allāh just as your remembering 'and honoring' your fathers, or even more remembering. There are some people who say, "Our Lord, give us in the world,” and he has no portion in the Hereafter.
75. I.e., Ihrâm, circling around the Ka‘bah and As-Safâ and Al-Marwah, staying at ‘Arafât, Muzdalifah and Mina, stoning of the specified pillars in Mina and slaughtering the Hady (animal).
Esegesi in lingua araba:
201. Others pray: “Our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the torment of the Fire.”
Esegesi in lingua araba:
202. These shall have (their) portion of what they have earned. For Allāh is Swift in Reckoning.
