[2]. Feed the hungry, and help those in need. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. Allāh will guide you continually, blessing you abundantly.
Once a man came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allāh, who are the people most beloved to Allāh?”
He ﷺ replied: “The most beloved of people to Allāh are those who are most beneficial to others. And the most beloved of deeds to Allāh Almighty is bringing happiness to a believer —or relieving him of a distress,
or paying off a debt on his behalf, or driving away hunger from him. And that I walk with my brother to fulfill his need is more beloved to me than to seclude myself (for worship) in this mosque — meaning the Mosque of Madinah — for a month.”
