[2]. Feed the hungry, and help those in need. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. Allāh will guide you continually, blessing you abundantly.
Once a man came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allāh, who are the people most beloved to Allāh?”
He ﷺ replied: “The most beloved of people to Allāh are those who are most beneficial to others. And the most beloved of deeds to Allāh Almighty is bringing happiness to a believer —or relieving him of a distress,
or paying off a debt on his behalf, or driving away hunger from him. And that I walk with my brother to fulfill his need is more beloved to me than to seclude myself (for worship) in this mosque — meaning the Mosque of Madinah — for a month.”
[4]. Let alone the Zakah - the alms. When we are moved to supply the needs of another, we are to not treat it like a business deal and should make no gain or profit from it. We should do it for the sake of Allāh (God) only without excepting any return from the people. Let’s ask Allāh to open our eyes and hearts to see how we can ease the pain of those who are suffering. Whether we seek to meet the needs of many or those of a single person, we honor Allāh by treating them with dignity and care.
Allāh calls and equips us to use our talents and skills to meet needs that are present in our community and world. Let’s release our skills into the service of Allāh and see how He will use our acts of love to sew hearts and lives together."
