فَلَا تَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِفَ وَعۡدِهِۦ رُسُلَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَزِيزٞ ذُو ٱنتِقَامٖ
47. So never think that Allāh would ever fail of His Promise to His messengers. Indeed, Allāh is All-Mighty, All-Able of Retribution [19].
[19]. Never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for Allāh’s wrath and His judicial righteousness; for it is written in Scripture, “Vengeance is mine; I shall exact retribution upon the wicked."
This invites the believer to rise above anger and personal retaliation, entrusting the matter to Allāh’s perfect justice. Human vengeance springs from pride and pain. Divine retribution springs from wisdom and fairness.
To “leave room for Allāh’s wrath” means trusting that Allāh alone judges rightly, at the right time, in the right measure.
True strength, then, lies not in revenge but in forgiveness, patience, and faith.
