1 : 14

1. Alif Lām Rā [1]. [This is] a Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad],
so that you may bring mankind out of darkness into light by the permission of their Lord, to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
info

[1]. See footnote to Qur’an chapter 2: Verse 1.
[2]. If we claim to have faith in Allāh and in His last and final Messenger, Muhammad ﷺ, yet still walk in darkness, we deceive ourselves and do not live by the truth.
But if we walk in the light — loving one another, helping one another, and keeping to Allāh’s commandments while avoiding what He has forbidden — then Allāh will purify us from all sin.
True faith shines through compassion, obedience, and mutual care among believers. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Purification is half of faith.
Saying al-ḥamdu lillāh (all praise and gratitude belong to Allāh) fills the scale.
Subḥān Allāh (Glory be to Allāh) and al-ḥamdu lillāh together fill what is between the heavens and the earth. Prayer is a light; charity is a proof of faith; patience is a radiant illumination. The Qur’an is either a proof for you or against you. Every person goes out early in the morning and trades his soul —freeing it through righteousness and charity, or ruining it through idolatry and sin, which lead to the Fire.”
Let us, then, walk in the light of faith —
remembering Allāh often, doing good, and supporting one another in righteousness —
so that Allāh may purify our hearts and guide us to the eternal light of His mercy.

2. Allāh, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth.
And woe to the disbelievers for a severe punishment.

3. Those who love the life of this world over the Hereafter, and turn others away from the path of Allāh, seeking to make it appear crooked —they are far astray. info

4 : 14

4. We have not sent any messenger except in the language of his people, so that he might make [the message] clear to them. Then Allāh lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. info

5 : 14

5. Indeed, We sent Moses with Our signs, saying, “Bring your people out of darkness into light [3], and remind them of the Days of Allāh.” Surely in this are signs for every patient and grateful person [4]. info

[3]. Light has always been a symbol of goodness, knowledge, wisdom, grace, hope, and Allah's Revelation. By contrast, darkness has been associated with evil, sin, and despair.
[4]. Come before His presence with a thankful heart, and praise Him with joy and reverence. Be grateful to Him, and speak blessings of His Name, for Allāh is good —
His love never ends, and His faithfulness remains forever, generation after generation.
