[34]. Jesus said, “I will ask Allāh, and He will send you another Helper who will remain with you forever.”
This Helper refers to the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ—sent as a mercy to the worlds and a guide to all mankind.
Whoever follows his command and obeys his message truly loves God; and whoever loves the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ will be loved by God in return. As Jesus also said, “If anyone loves God, he will keep My word, and God will love him and prepare for him a dwelling in Paradise. But whoever does not love God does not keep My word.”
Jesus foretold: “The Helper—the Spirit of Truth—whom Allāh will send, will teach you all things and remind you of all that has been revealed.”
This prophecy refers to Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, whom God sent to complete His message, confirm the truth found in the earlier Scriptures, and bring further guidance from His Lord.
The term “Helper” or “Comforter” (Greek: Paraklētos) appears in John 14:16, 26; 15:26; 16:7-13.
These passages are understood to allude to Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, described in the Qur’an as “a messenger confirming what came before him and bringing glad tidings to the believers."
The expression “Spirit of Truth” is seen as a description of his mission to reveal and clarify divine truth.
