61. And surely his (second coming) is (a sign and) knowledge [20] for (the approaching of) the Hour (of Doom), so do not doubt about it, and follow me (in Islamic Monotheism) - this is straight Path. info

[20]. Muhammad, God's Messenger (ﷺ) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus. He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognize him: a man of medium height, reddish and fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet.
According to authentic Islamic sources (Qur’an and Hadith), Prophet Jesus will return to Earth near the end of times — not as a new prophet or lawgiver, but to restore justice, defeat falsehood, and confirm the truth of Islam.
One of the specific locations mentioned in hadith literature connected to his descent is al-Masjid al-Umawī (the Umayyad Mosque) in Damascus, Syria.
Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ said:
“He Jesus son of Mary will descend near the white minaret to the east of Damascus, wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron, placing his hands on the wings of two angels.”
Scholars identify this as the eastern minaret of the Umayyad Mosque (al-Masjid al-Umawī) in Damascus.
It is traditionally called “Minārat ʿĪsā” (The Minaret of Jesus), and even today, locals regard it as the site where Jesus will descend.
a) Pray Behind the Mahdī
Jesus will join the Muslims already gathered for prayer.
When invited to lead, Jesus will decline, saying: “No, some of you are leaders over others; this is Allah’s honor for this community.”
This shows his humility and confirms that he comes as a follower of the final message of Islam, not to start a new one.
b) Defeat the False Messiah (al-Dajjāl)
Soon after his descent, Jesus will confront al-Masīḥ ad-Dajjāl (the Antichrist) near Ludd (Lod) in present-day Palestine.
He will kill the Dajjāl with his own hand, bringing peace and truth back to the world.
“ʿĪsā ibn Maryam will kill the the Antichrist at the gate of Ludd.”
c) Establish Justice and Peace
After Dajjāl’s defeat, Jesus will rule with justice and mercy:
He will abolish tyranny, war, and oppression. People will live in peace and prosperity. The Qur’an and Sunnah will be the law of the land. Wealth will be abundant, and envy will disappear.
“Then peace will prevail, and enmity and hatred will vanish.”
d) Remove False Worship
Jesus will break the cross, symbolizing the end of false claims about his divinity.
He will kill the swine, ending what is prohibited.
He will abolish the jizyah, because all will accept the truth and follow the same faith.
“He will break the cross, kill the swine, and abolish the jizyah; then there will be no religion except Islam.”
e) His Life and Death
Jesus will live on Earth for about 40 years after his descent.
He will marry, have children, and eventually pass away.
The second coming of Jesus in Islam is a symbol of divine justice and completion:
His return will unite believers, ending confusion about his nature.
It will vindicate his true message — that he was a human messenger of Allāh, not divine.
It will mark the final victory of truth over deception, preparing the world for the Day of Judgment.
